Metrostav a.s. is a Czech based universal construction company. It is the largest construction company in the Czech Republic and second largest in Central and South-Eastern Europe. History Formed in 1990 from a state company of the same name after the fall of the communist regime in the country. Originally Metrostav was created in 1971 with a sole purpose to build Prague metro. After 1990 it was transformed into a universal construction company active in all fields of construction business. Metrostav is also a leading member of Metrostav Group Concern. Line C (Prague Metro)
Line C () is a line on the Prague Metro. It crosses the right-bank half of the city center in the north-south directions and turns to the east at both ends of the line. It is the system's oldest and most used line, being opened in 1974 and transporting roughly 26,900 persons per hour in the peak. The line is long and includes 20 stations, journey from one end to the other taking approx. 35 min. History Segment I.C Construction was started in 1966 on an underground rapid tram line. The Troja Bridge (2014) () is a bowstring arch bridge in Prague that crosses the Vltava river. It opened to traffic in October 2014. The bridge is long. It was designed by Mott MacDonald and Koucky Architects, and was constructed by Metrostav. Blanka Tunnel Complex
Blanka Tunnel Complex is a part of the inner Prague Municipal Ring Road. It is the longest road tunnel in the Czech Republic and the longest city tunnel in Europe. The complex connects the area west of Prague Castle with Trója district in the northeast. Its length is about 5.5 km and consists of three tunnels: ''Bubenečský, Dejvický'' and ''Brusnický''. The tunnel complex was designed to relieve the historic center of Prague from heavy traffic. In a first 49-month period it was used by 139 million cars, according to official statistics. National Museum (Prague)
The National Museum (NM) (Czech: ''Národní muzeum'') is a Czech museum institution intended to systematically establish, prepare, and publicly exhibit natural scientific and historical collections. It was founded in 1818 by Kašpar Maria Šternberg. Historian František Palacký was also strongly involved in the foundation of the museum. Tunnel Boring Machine
A tunnel boring machine (TBM), also known as a "mole", is a machine used to excavate tunnels with a circular cross section through a variety of soil and rock strata. They may also be used for microtunneling. They can be designed to bore through hard rock, wet or dry soil, or sand. Tunnel diameters can range from (micro-TBMs) to to date. Tunnels of less than a metre or so in diameter are typically done using trenchless construction methods or horizontal directional drilling rather than TBMs. TBMs can be designed to excavate non-circular tunnels, including u-shaped, horseshoe, square or rectangular tunnels. Tunnel boring machines are used as an alternative to drilling and blasting (D&B) methods in rock and conventional "hand mining" in soil.
