Maurizio Guarini
Maurizio Guarini is a self-taught keyboardist, multi-instrumentalist and composer, best known as a member of the progressive rock band Goblin. Biography Born in Rome, Italy in 1955, Guarini started playing organ and guitar at the age of 10. He started playing live at high school concerts with some rock bands. Later, his music exploration moved on to progressive / jazz-rock. After graduating from high school in 1973, he attended the Math faculty at the University La Sapienza in Rome. In spring 1975 Massimo Morante from Goblin invited Guarini to join the band, just after Deep Red was released. Starting with the very first concert in September 1975, Goblin, that reached top of the charts at that time, kept touring Italy until the end of 1976. Giuseppe "Pino" Donaggio (born 24 November 1941) is an Italian musician, singer, and composer of film and television scores. A classically-trained violinist, Donaggio is known for his collaborations with director Brian De Palma, and for his work in both European and American genre cinema. Samsas Traum ("Samsa's Dream") is a German rock band fronted by Alexander Kaschte. Their music consists of elements of symphonic metal, Neue Deutsche Härte, black metal and cantastoria. Stephen Richard Hackett (born 12 February 1950) is an English musician, singer, songwriter and record producer who gained prominence as the lead guitarist of the progressive rock band Genesis from 1971 to 1977. Hackett contributed to six Genesis studio albums, three live albums, seven singles and one EP before he left to pursue a solo career. Suspiria (1977 Soundtrack)
The soundtrack to the film ''Suspiria'' was composed and performed by the Italian band Goblin. A single version of the title track, "Suspiria", was released with the B-side "Blind Concert". The title song from the soundtrack was featured in the trailer for the 2011 film ''Jane Eyre''. In 2018, Claudio Simonetti's incarnation of the band went on the ''Suspiria Tour'' to coincide with the release of the film's 2018 remake. The band performed the soundtrack in its entirety with a live screening of the original film. Legacy Due to the film's success and legacy, the soundtrack remains one of Goblin's most popular albums. Fabio Pignatelli is an Italian musician. He is the bass guitar player for the Italian progressive rock band Goblin. Goblin provided soundtracks for several horror films, most famously Dario Argento's '' Suspiria'' (1977) and George A. Romero's '' Dawn of the Dead'' (1978). The band was largely defunct by 1979, but Pignatelli kept the group together, as well as holding onto the name, and the group continued well into the 1990s, with its main lineup restored briefly in 2000. Because of Pignatelli's operation of a band with the name, they were credited as Simonetti-Pignatelli-Morante for the film, ''Tenebrae'', because the other band members (most importantly, Maurizio Guarini and Carlo Pennisi), most of whom had not worked with Simonetti or Morante, were not involved.
