Fabio Pignatelli
Fabio Pignatelli is an Italian musician. He is the bass guitar player for the Italian progressive rock band Goblin. Goblin provided soundtracks for several horror films, most famously Dario Argento's '' Suspiria'' (1977) and George A. Romero's '' Dawn of the Dead'' (1978). The band was largely defunct by 1979, but Pignatelli kept the group together, as well as holding onto the name, and the group continued well into the 1990s, with its main lineup restored briefly in 2000. Because of Pignatelli's operation of a band with the name, they were credited as Simonetti-Pignatelli-Morante for the film, ''Tenebrae'', because the other band members (most importantly, Maurizio Guarini and Carlo Pennisi), most of whom had not worked with Simonetti or Morante, were not involved. Tenebrae (film)
''Tenebrae'' (, also known as ''Tenebre'' and ''Unsane'') is a 1982 Italian ''giallo'' film written and directed by Dario Argento. The film stars Anthony Franciosa as American author Peter Neal, who – while in Rome promoting his latest murder-mystery novel – becomes embroiled in the search for a serial killer who may have been inspired to kill by his novel. John Saxon and Daria Nicolodi co-star as Neal's agent and assistant respectively, while Giuliano Gemma and Carola Stagnaro appear as detectives investigating the murders. John Steiner, Veronica Lario, and Mirella D'Angelo also feature in minor roles. ''Tenebre'' is the soundtrack to Dario Argento's film of the same title, first released as an album in 1982, and reissued most recently in 2006 with multiple bonus tracks. The score was composed and performed by Claudio Simonetti, Fabio Pignatelli, and Massimo Morante, three former members of the defunct rock group Goblin who briefly reunited at the request of Argento. Although the movie itself credits the score to "Simonetti-Pignatelli-Morante", the soundtrack album is credited to "Simonetti-Morante-Pignatelli". In 2007, "Tenebre", the first track, was sampled by French electronic music duo Justice on their album ''Cross'', in the songs "Phantom" and "Phantom Pt. II". Maurizio Guarini is a self-taught keyboardist, multi-instrumentalist and composer, best known as a member of the progressive rock band Goblin. Biography Born in Rome, Italy in 1955, Guarini started playing organ and guitar at the age of 10. He started playing live at high school concerts with some rock bands. Later, his music exploration moved on to progressive / jazz-rock. After graduating from high school in 1973, he attended the Math faculty at the University La Sapienza in Rome. In spring 1975 Massimo Morante from Goblin invited Guarini to join the band, just after Deep Red was released. Starting with the very first concert in September 1975, Goblin, that reached top of the charts at that time, kept touring Italy until the end of 1976. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family.
