Masjid Al-Istighfar
The Al-Istighfar Mosque ( ms, Masjid Al-Istighfar) is a mosque in Pasir Ris, Singapore. The mosque is wheelchair accessible as there are ramps and a lift that serves all floors. The mosque is fully air conditioned in all of the prayer halls. As the number of Muslims in the neighbourhood increases, the mosque is overcrowded due to the high demand during peak periods such as Friday prayers and Ramadan night prayers. On the 27 January 2017, the Masjid Al-Istighfar opened a new temporary prayer facility located opposite the mosque. This is to cater to the large number of Muslim worshippers for its Friday prayers. To be scheduled to be completed by end-December 2018, overflow prayer spaces are built to meet with the ever increasing worshippers every Fridays. Sunni Islam () is the largest branch of Islam, followed by 85–90% of the world's Muslims. Its name comes from the word '' Sunnah'', referring to the tradition of Muhammad. List Of Mosques In Singapore
There are 72 mosques in Singapore. Almost all the mosques in Singapore are administered by Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura, with the exception of Masjid Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim which is administered by the Malaysian state of Johor. Twenty-three mosques were built using the Masjid Building and Mendaki Fund (MBMF), the most recent being Masjid Al-Mawaddah which officially opened in May 2009. Practitioners of Islam make up about 15.6% of Singapore's residents, according to the 2020 census. Islam is the third largest religion in the country, after Buddhism and Christianity. Masjid Darul Ghufran
Masjid Darul Ghufran ( Jawi: مسجد دار الغفران) is currently the largest mosque in Singapore, located in Tampines and occupying with a floor area of 5,910 sq metres. It is about 300m from Tampines Bus Interchange, and beside Our Tampines Hub. History and design Masjid Darul Ghufran was completed in December 1990 and was officiated by Mr. Haji Othman Haron Eusofe, Member of Parliament for Marine Parade GRC on 12 July 1991. It was designed by the Housing and Development Board and originally had a brown brick facade. The architecture was described as an "interplay on walls". A dome was added to the minaret, together with Islamic geometric motifs on the windows and entrances after consultations with the community. After structural failures with the brick facade in 1998, the mosque was later encased in azure blue panelling, which resulted in its nickname of "Menara Biru" (Blue Minaret in Malay) by the residents. Pasir Ris MRT Station
Pasir Ris MRT station is an elevated Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East West line (EWL) in Pasir Ris, Singapore. Situated along Pasir Ris Central adjacent to Pasir Ris Bus Interchange and the White Sands Shopping Mall, it is the eastern terminus of the EWL and, as of June 2021, the only MRT station within Pasir Ris. The station exterior has the characteristic dome-shaped segmented roof also seen on other elevated EWL stations. The station opened on 16 December 1989 as the terminus of the MRT's eastern line extension. In 2016, two maintenance workers were killed on the tracks away from the station. In January 2019, it was announced that the station would become an interchange, with the opening of the Cross Island line (CRL) by 2030. Shia Islam
Shīʿa Islam or Shīʿīsm is the second-largest branch of Islam.
