Mary Tsiongas
Mary Tsiongas (born 1959) is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work often addresses human relationships to technology and the natural environment. Her New media art, new media work delves into themes of metaphysics, time, games, chance, and memory. Life Born in Greece and now based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mary Tsiongas has performed, exhibited, and lectured extensively for the past fifteen years. She received her MFA in film, video, and performance from the California College of the Arts in 1993. She is currently an associate professor in electronic media in the Art and Art History Department at the University of New Mexico. New Media Art
New media art includes artworks designed and produced by means of new media, electronic media technology, technologies, comprising virtual art, computer graphics, computer animation, digital art, interactive art, sound art, Internet art, video games, robotics, 3D printing, and cyborg art. The term defines itself by the thereby created artwork, which differentiates itself from that deriving from conventional visual arts (i.e. architecture, painting, sculpture, etc.). The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA), located in Washington, D.C., is "the first museum in the world solely dedicated" to championing women through the arts.
