Markus Messenzehl (born 20 June 1972 in Oberstdorf) is a German curler. He is World men's silver medallist and two time European men's champion. Oberstdorf ( Low Alemannic: ''Oberschdorf'') is a municipality and skiing and hiking town in Germany, located in the Allgäu region of the Bavarian Alps. It is the southernmost settlement in Germany and one of its highest towns. At the center of Oberstdorf is a church whose tall spire serves as a landmark for navigating around town. Daniel Neuner
Daniel Neuner (born 25 October 1987 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, West Germany) is a German male curler. He has represented Germany at several international championships, including at two World Junior Championships and a World Men's Championship. Curling career As a junior Neuner skipped Team Germany in back-to-back years at the World Junior Championships, in 2007 and 2008. His teams finished 8th and 6th, respectively. Neuner competed in his first European Men's Curling Championship in 2012 as lead for skip Andreas Lang. The team also included third Daniel Herberg (a two-time Olympian), second Markus Messenzehl, and Andreas Kempf as alternate. The tournament went poorly for Team Germany, their only win coming over Hungary's György Nagy. Andreas "Al" Lang (born 26 April 1979) is a German curler from Alterschrofen. He is the former third for Andy Kapp. Career Lang began his international career skipping the German junior team at the 1999 World Junior Curling Championships, where he finished 6th. He skipped the main German national team at the 2003 Ford World Men's Curling Championship, finishing in 9th place. In 2007, Lang moved to the Andy Kapp rink, playing second for him. Andreas Kempf
Andreas "Kempfi" Kempf (born 4 June 1967) is a German curler from Munich. He currently plays lead for the German national team, skipped by Andy Kapp. Kempf originally played lead for the Roland Jentsch rink, but moved to the Kapp rink in 2005. He shared the lead duties with Holger Höhne, on this five-player team. He won a bronze medal at the 2005 Ford World Men's Curling Championship and a silver at the 2007 Ford World Men's Curling Championship. For the 2008-09 season, the team reverted to a four-player team. Kempf would be the odd man out for the 2008 European Curling Championships, which he went to as an alternate, but did not play any games. Holger Höhne
Holger "Holgi" Höhne (born 6 May 1970 in Füssen) is a German curler. He was a longtime member of the Andy Kapp rink. Currently, he coaches the German national women's team. Höhne has been playing with Kapp since 1992. However, he was only the team's alternate until joining the team as a regular thrower in 1995 at the lead position. Höhne's first tournament as lead was the 1995 Ford World Curling Championships, were the team won a bronze medal. This was added to Höhne's bronze medal at the 1994 Worlds as an alternate and a gold at the 1992 European Curling Championships. While playing lead for the team, Höhne won silver at the 1997 Ford World Curling Championships, a gold at the 1997 European Championships and a bronze at the 2005 Ford World Men's Curling Championship. Andy Kapp
Andreas "Andy" Kapp (born 8 December 1967) is a German curler from Unterthingau. After a number of several tournaments at the Junior, Olympic and World Championship levels, Kapp surprised many by winning the 1992 European championship. The next year however, he finished only 7th, but at the 1994 World Championships he and his team won the bronze medal. The next year, Kapp would go on to win the bronze medal once again. Two years later, at the 1997 World Championships, Kapp achieved his best showing at a World Championship, as he led his team to a silver medal, losing to Sweden's Peja Lindholm in the final. Kapp would also win his second European championships in December that year, soon before the first ever official medal Olympics for curling in Nagano. He would have a disappointing 1998 Olympics though where as one of the top medal favorites he went 1-6, finishing in last place in the 8-team field.
