Marina Trofimova
Marina Trofimova (1981-1986 Karpak; born 16 February 1964) is an Estonian butterfly, freestyle and medley swimmer. In 1985 she graduated from the Tartu State University in physical education. From 1981 to 1985 she became 15-times Estonian champion in different disciplines at summer championships, and from 1983 to 1985 10-times at winter championships. From 1978 to 1985 she was a member of Estonian national swimming team. In 1980 she was named to Estonian Athlete of the Year. Personal Her husband is Igor Trofymov and son is Deniss Karpak Deniss Karpak (born 18 July 1986) is an Estonian sailor. Karpak was born in Tallinn. The Estonian Athlete of the Year ( et, Eesti Aasta Sportlane) is an annual award presented by the Estonian Olympic Committee (''Eesti Olümpiakomitee'', EOK) to one male and one female sportsperson judged to have delivered the best performance over the course of the year. The winners of the award, which was first conceived in the 1930s and has been presented every year since 1955, are chosen by an aggregated vote from sporting journalists, national sporting federations, and the public at large. Initially an accolade presented to one individual, the award was split into male and female categories beginning in 1967. In 2020 the two categories were merged due to the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic to the international and national sporting calendars. Igor Trofymov (until 1992 Karpak; born 4 August 1960) is an Estonian sailor and coach. He was born in Pavlograd, Ukraine. In 1982 he graduated from Metallurgy Academy in Ukraine. He started his sailing competitions in 1972. In 1981 he won bronze medal at Soviet Union Championships. In 1981 he placed 5th at Kiel Regatta. Since 1998 he has been working as a sailing coach. Deniss Karpak
Deniss Karpak (born 18 July 1986) is an Estonian sailor. Karpak was born in Tallinn. He finished 24th at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the Laser class. At the 2012 Summer Olympics he finished 11th in the Finn class and at the 2016 Summer Olympics he finished 20th. Biography He was born to sailing athlete Igor Karpak and swimmer Marina Trofimova. He began his high school education in Odesa, Ukraine. When his family moved back to Estonia, he continued his studies at Tallinna Läänemere Gümnaasium, graduating in 2004. Karpak had his first sailing experience when he was six with an Optimist. He started to regularly engage in sailing when was 12 years old in 1998 with the sailing club "Baltsail".
