Manivasagam
Manivasagam (died 2001) was an Indian people, Indian film director, producer and screenwriter who worked on Tamil films. Career Manivasagam began his career with ''Namma Ooru Poovatha'' (1990) and continued to work on village action dramas, often collaborating with actor Sarath Kumar. He often produced his own films, and credited his wife, Rajeswari Manivasagam, as the chief producer. The failure of his film, ''Nadodi Mannan (1995 film), Nadodi Mannan'' (1995), prompted the director to take a break from directing films. His final release was ''Mappillai Gounder'' (1997) which also opened to negative reviews and performed poorly at the box office. Manivasagam died in 2001. Pattathu Raani
''Pattathu Raani'' is a 1992 Tamil-language comedy film directed by Manivasagam. The film stars Vijayakumar and Gautami leading an ensemble cast including Manorama, Goundamani, Janagaraj, Senthil, Delhi Ganesh and Manivasagam. The film, produced by Rajeswari Manivasagam and P.S. Mani, had musical score by Deva and was released on 14 August 1992. Plot Jalagandeswaran and Rayappan are brothers and house owners of a small colony. The tenants refused to pay up their rents, knowing that the houses were built on State land. Rayappan has the idea to rent a vacant house to Usha, a beautiful company manageress. Usha is married to a middle-aged man Sundaram. The couple moves into their new house and befriends the neighbours. Mappillai Gounder
''Mappillai Gounder'' () is a 1997 Indian Tamil-language film written and directed by Manivasagam. The film stars Prabhu and Sakshi Shivanand, while Swathi plays a supporting role. The film, which has music composed by Deva, released in February 1997. Plot Subramani aka Mappillai Gounder (Prabhu) is the son of a rich landlord (Vinu Chakravarthy) living in a village. Subramani dreams of marrying his niece Priya (Sakshi Shivanand) who lives in the US. Upon her return neither Priya nor her father (Nizhalgal Ravi) are interested in the wedding proposal with Subramani and this deteriorates Subramani's father's health. Sarath Kumar
Sarathkumar Ramanathan (born 14 July 1954) is an Indian actor, politician, filmmaker, and singer. He has acted in more than 130 Tamil language, Tamil, Telugu language, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. He has won two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and three Filmfare Awards South. Originally a bodybuilder and later journalist, in 1986, Sarathkumar started his acting career in the Telugu film ''Samajamlo Sthree''.
