Marumagan
''Marumagan'' ( Son-in-law) is a 1995 Tamil-language drama film directed by Manivasagam. The film stars Karthik and Meena. The film, produced by K. Balu, had musical score by Deva and was released on 7 July 1995. The film, released to negative reviews, failed at the box office. Plot After working in Bombay as a tailor, Thangarasu ( Karthik) comes back to home and opens a tailor shop in his neighbourhood. His speciality is taking measurements without touching the women, his shop becomes quickly very popular among the women. Thangarasu falls in love with Manjula (Meena), the daughter of Mayilsamy Gounder (Radha Ravi). Mayilsamy Gounder, an ex-Member of Parliament and an illicit liquor smuggler, plans a return to politics. In the meantime, Thangarasu and Manjula announce their love on a TV Channel. Nagesh
Nagesh (born Cheyur Krishnarao Nageshwaran; (27 September 1933 – 31 January 2009) was an Indian actor, mostly remembered for his roles as a comedian in Tamil films during the 1960s. Nagesh was born in Dharapuram. He acted in over 1,000 films from 1958 to 2008, performing in a variety of roles as comedian, lead roles, supporting actor and antagonist. He has also acted in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada films. Nagesh's style of comedy was largely inspired by Hollywood actor Jerry Lewis. Karthik (actor)
Murali Karthikeyan Muthuraman (born 13 September 1960), better known by his stage name Karthik, is an Indian actor, playback singer and politician who works mainly in Tamil cinema. He is the son of veteran actor R. Muthuraman. In the 1980s and 90s, Karthik was one of the biggest stars in the industry. He was first introduced by Bharathiraja in the Tamil film ''Alaigal Oivathillai'' (1981) and became a lead actor in Tamil films by his own. Manivasagam (died 2001) was an Indian people, Indian film director, producer and screenwriter who worked on Tamil films. Career Manivasagam began his career with ''Namma Ooru Poovatha'' (1990) and continued to work on village action dramas, often collaborating with actor Sarath Kumar. He often produced his own films, and credited his wife, Rajeswari Manivasagam, as the chief producer. The failure of his film, ''Nadodi Mannan (1995 film), Nadodi Mannan'' (1995), prompted the director to take a break from directing films. His final release was ''Mappillai Gounder'' (1997) which also opened to negative reviews and performed poorly at the box office. Manivasagam died in 2001. Periya Karuppa Thevar (1936 - 18 September 2012) was a Tamil film character artiste and folk singer who appeared in Tamil-language films. Film career PKT was part of the drama troupe floated by veteran Sankaradoss Swamigal more than fifty years ago. Like many actors of his era, he had made the grade to films as an actor after toiling hard on stage where he used to be quite popular for his acting as well as in singing many folk songs. Ponnambalam (born 11 November 1963) is an Indian actor and stuntman who has predominantly appeared in Tamil language films. He is best known for playing antagonistic roles in Indian films during the 1990s, notably appearing in films such as ''Nattamai'' (1994), '' Muthu'' (1995) and ''Amarkalam'' (1999). Subramaniyan Karuppaiya (born 25 May 1939), known by his stage name Goundamani, is an Indian actor and comedian who works in Tamil cinema. He is known for his comic duo partnership in Tamil films with fellow actor Senthil. The pair dominated the Tamil industry as comedians in the 1980s and 90s. He was called Goundamani after acting as a Gounder in one of his early day dramas and the pseudonym stuck with him forever.
