Manfred Sommer and Manfred Sommer (May 27, 1933 – October 3, 2007) was a Spanish comics artist, best known for the reporter comics series ''Frank Cappa''. Career Sommer was born at San Sebastián. He began his career as an informal pupil of Jesus Blasco, and received creative support from the Blasco family during his young years. Sommer's main influences were Milton Caniff, Frank Robbins and Hugo Pratt. Sommer created the series ''El Lobo Solitario'', ''Polux'', and ''El Tigre'', before launching his first great success in 1981, ''Frank Cappa'', which was published in the comics magazine ''Cimoc''. Milton Arthur Paul Caniff (; February 28, 1907 – April 3, 1988) was an People of the United States, American cartoonist famous for the ''Terry and the Pirates (comic strip), Terry and the Pirates'' and ''Steve Canyon'' comic strips. Biography Caniff was born in Hillsboro, Ohio. He was an Eagle Scout (Boy Scouts of America), Eagle Scout and a recipient of the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America. Caniff did cartoons for local newspapers while studying at Stivers High School (now Stivers School for the Arts) in Dayton Ohio. Franklin Robbins (September 9, 1917 – November 28, 1994) was an American comic book and comic strip artist and writer, as well as a prominent painter whose work appeared in museums including the Whitney Museum of American Art, where one of his paintings was featured in the 1955 Whitney Annual Exhibition of American Painting. Early life Born in Boston, Robbins was in his teens when he received a Rockefeller grant and scholarships to the Boston Museum and the National Academy of Design in New York. Jordi Bernet Cussó (born 14 June 1944) is a Spanish comics artist, best known for the gangster comics series ''Torpedo'' and for American weird western comic book ''Jonah Hex''. Career He was born in Barcelona, the son of a Spanish comic book artist, Miguel Bernet. He made his debut in comics at fifteen, continuing his father's humorous series ''Doña Urraca'' (''Mrs. Magpie'') after his death in 1960, under the pseudonym "Jordi". Antonio Segura
Antonio Segura (June 13, 1947 – January 31, 2012) was a Spanish comics writer. Biography Antonio Segura's earliest work appeared in the early 1980s after meeting the experienced artists José Ortiz, Luis Bermejo and Leopoldo Sanchez who were looking for a scriptwriter untainted by the industry. Taking this opportunity, he wrote a series for each of them '' Hombre'', ''Orka'' and '' Bogey'', respectively. With some effort, these became published, and joined in the wave of emerging Spanish adult comics that bloomed in the post-Franco era. José Ortiz Moya (1 September 1932 – 23 December 2013) was a Spanish comics artist, best known for several collaborations with Antonio Segura, such as the series '' Hombre''. Biography José Ortiz was born in Cartagena, in the Region of Murcia. His career began at an early age, winning an artistic tournament held by the Spanish magazine ''Chicos''. After a period of making pocket sized comics, he created the series ''Sigur el Vikingo'' and ''Johnny Fogata'' in 1959, and ''Carolynn Baker'' for the English newspaper '' Daily Express'' in 1962.
