Ugo Eugenio Prat, better known as Hugo Pratt (15 June 1927 – 20 August 1995), was an Italian comic book creator who was known for combining strong storytelling with extensive historical research on works such as ''Corto Maltese''. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 2005. In 1946 Hugo Pratt became part of the so-called Group of Venice with Fernando Carcupino, Dino Battaglia and Damiano Damiani. Editorial Frontera
Editorial Frontera was an Argentine publisher of comic books, which lasted from 1956 to 1961. It was established by the author Héctor Germán Oesterheld. History Héctor Germán Oesterheld created two popular characters for the '' Misterix'' magazine, of the Abril publisher: Bull Rocket and Sergeant Kirk. He wrote novelizations of both comic books, and published them on his own, in a joint business with his brother Jorge. The success prompted him to start his own publishing house. He negotiated the characters with Cesare Civita, owner of Abril. It was arranged that Bull Rocket would stay in Misterix, written by new authors, and Oesterheld would take Kirk to his new publishing house, alongside the artist Hugo Pratt. Francisco Solano López (October 26, 1928 – August 12, 2011) was an Argentine comics artist. He was the co-creator of '' El Eternauta''. Career Born in Buenos Aires, Solano López began his career in 1953 working for the publishing house Columba where he illustrated the series ''Perico y Guillerma''. Working for Editorial Abril he met Héctor Germán Oesterheld, assigned to illustrate his series ''Bull Rocket'' for the magazine ''Misterix''. Asso Di Picche
Asso di Picche was an Italian comic series featuring an eponymous masked crime fighter who combats an international crime syndicate known as the Band of Panthers - the action occurs all over the world, but chiefly in a dark, melancholic version of San Francisco. The series was created in 1945 by Mario Faustinelli, Alberto Ongaro, and Hugo Pratt. The editorial work was done by Faustinelli, Ongaro wrote the text, while Pratt did the initial pencil drawings which were later revised in ink by Faustinelli. It was terminated in 1949. The illustrative style of Pratt in ''Asso di Picche'' has been compared to that of Milton Caniff in ''Terry and the Pirates'' (1934). Mario Faustinelli
Mario Faustinelli (8 November 1924 – 31 July 2006) was an Italian comic book artist and editor. Faustinelli was born in Venice in 1924. After the end of World War II, Faustinelli, along with artists Hugo Pratt, Ivo Pavone, and Dino Battaglia, moved to Argentina in search of work; they became known as the "Venice Group." In 1945 Faustinelli, along with Pratt and Alberto Ongaro, created the character " Asso di Picche" ("Ace of Spades"). Faustinelli later became the editor of ''Asso di Picche'' magazine, and continued to write the series. Faustinelli returned to Italy in 1957. He co-write the script for the 1961 film, ''The Adventures of Topo Gigio.'' In 1964 he created the character and comic strip '' Kolosso'' with artist Carlo Cossio.
