Mahamoud Adam Béchir
Mahamoud Adam Béchir (born 1965) is a Chadian diplomat. Previously he was Chadian Ambassador to the United States from 2004 to 2012. Currently Chads ambassador to Russia. Biography Born in Biltine in 1965, Béchir was educated internationally. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy at the University of Khartoum, Bechir returned to Chad and appointed chef at Chad's Military Hospital HMI. he continued his education at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, and its Center for Civil-Military Relations, graduating in 1997 with a master's degree. Bechir was promoted as lieutenant colonel and transferred from HMI to the Defence Ministry as Director of Military Corporation. He also attended England's Cranfield University. In 2004 Bechir was appointed by President Idriss Déby as ambassador to the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina and Cuba. In 2005, he visited West Virginia University. Biltine, Chad
Biltine (Arabic: بلتن) is a city in Chad, and the capital of Wadi Fira region (previously Biltine prefecture). The town was briefly captured on November 25, 2006, by the RADF, a rebel group, then recaptured the next day by the government, along with nearby Abéché that had been captured by a different rebel group, the UFDD The Union of Forces for Democracy and Development is the largest group of Chadian rebel forces opposed to former President Idriss Déby. An indictment ( ) is a formal accusation that a legal person, person has committed a crime. In jurisdictions that use the concept of felony, felonies, the most serious criminal offence is a felony; jurisdictions that do not use the felonies concept often use that of an indictable offence, an offence that requires an indictment. Chadian Civil War (2005–2010)
The most recent Chadian Civil War began on December 18, 2005. Since its independence from France in 1960, Chad has been swamped by the civil war between the Arab-Muslims of the north and the Sub-Saharan-Christians of the south. As a result, leadership and presidency in Chad drifted back and forth between the Christian southerners and Muslim northerners. When one side was in power, the other side usually started a revolutionary war to counter it. France, the former colonial power, and Chad's northern neighbour Libya have both become involved at various times throughout the civil war. By the mid-1990s the civil war had somewhat stabilised, and in 1996 Idriss Déby, a northerner, was confirmed president in Chad's first democratic election. In 1998 an armed rebellion began in the north, led by President Déby's former defence chief, Youssouf Togoimi. A Libyan peace deal in 2002 failed to put an end to the fighting.
