Mads Stage
Mads Stage (6 July 1922 – 28 May 2004) was a Danish artist born in Østerbro, Copenhagen. Stage is recognised as an esteemed illustrator and artist around the world. He is most well known for his idyllic paintings, but has also designed and illustrated postcards, posters, stamps, books, and porcelain, among other textiles. Career Stage was a student at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts from 1941 until 1947. While there, he studied under Erik Clemmensen, the professor of painting, and Aksel Jørgensen. Stage specialized in illustrating city scenes and landscapes, and found inspiration for many of his drawings in the beautiful scenery around his home in the Danish countryside. He produced a series of watercolors depicting Copenhagen, Stockholm, England, Wales, Scotland, Holland, Paris, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, and the USA. Østerbro
Østerbro () (literally, "Eastern Bridge") is one of the 10 official districts of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located just north of the city centre, outside the old city gate Østerport which, after it was moved around 1700, used to be located close to present-day Østerport Station. Jens Fink-Jensen
Jens Fink-Jensen (born 19 December 1956) is a Danish poet, author, photographer, composer and architect. Biography Fink-Jensen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. From 1968 to 1972 he attended school in Store Heddinge where he was a classmate with the Danish poet Søren Ulrik Thomsen. Fink-Jensen debuted as a writer at the age of 18 when his short story, ''Juni 1995 (June 1995)'', was published in the daily newspaper ''Information''. The following year, four of his poems were published in the Danish literary magazine ''Hvedekorn''. Fink-Jensen graduated in modern languages from Herlufsholm Boarding School in 1976 and subsequently performed his national service with the Royal Life Guard where he trained as an NCO. He later earned a degree in architecture in 1986 from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture in Copenhagen and a further education in multimedia design from the same Academy in 1997. Slagelse
Slagelse () is a town on Zealand, Denmark. The town is the seat of Slagelse Municipality, and is the biggest town of the municipality. It is located 15 km east of Korsør, 16 km north-east of Skælskør, 33 km south-east of Kalundborg and 14 km west of Sorø. History Slagelse has been inhabited since at least the Viking Age, where it was a Pagan site. Trelleborg, a ring castle, was built near the current location of Slagelse in 980, which made the location strategically important. A church was built at Slagelse's current location in the 1000s. Around this time, coins were minted in Slagelse. Antvorskov was built in the 1100s by Valdemar I, who had recently acquired Zealand. Zealand
Zealand ( da, Sjælland ) at 7,031 km2 is the largest and most populous island in Denmark proper (thus excluding Greenland and Disko Island, which are larger in size). Ribe
Ribe () is a town in south-west Jutland, Denmark, with a population of 8,257 (2022). It is the seat of the Diocese of Ribe covering southwestern Jutland. Until 1 January 2007, Ribe was the seat of both a surrounding Ribe Municipality, municipality and Ribe County, county. It is now part of the enlarged Esbjerg Municipality in the Region of Southern Denmark.
