This is a list of the train stations with the highest Amtrak ridership the United States in the fiscal year 2020 (October 2019 to September 2020). Ridership figures from 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 have been provided for comparative purposes. In the fiscal year 2020, ridership was down significantly across the board due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The rankings exclude Amtrak stations located in Canada. Ridership numbers are for Amtrak only—commuter rail, subway, and other modes are not included. Rensselaer is a city in Rensselaer County, New York, United States, and is located on the east side of the Hudson River, directly opposite of Albany. Baltimore Penn Station, formally named Baltimore Pennsylvania Station in full, is the main inter-city passenger rail hub in Baltimore, Maryland. Sacramento Valley Station is an Amtrak railway station in the city of Sacramento, California, at 401 I Street on the corner of Fifth Street. It is the seventh busiest Amtrak station in the country, and the second busiest in the Western United States with thousands of riders a day and over a million passengers per year. Today, it is served by 38 daily Amtrak and Amtrak California trains and many Amtrak Thruway Motorcoaches.
