Laredo, Cantabria
Laredo () is a town in the autonomous community of Cantabria. According to the 2008 census ( INE), the municipality has a population of 12,648 inhabitants. In addition to Laredo, the municipality includes the villages of La Arenosa, El Callejo, Las Cárcobas, Las Casillas, La Pesquera, Tarrueza and Villante. Except from the last two, the other villages had been physically integrated into Laredo. Located between the cities of Santander and Bilbao, Laredo is known in the region and nationally for "''La Salvé''", its 5 km long beach (7 km at high tide) and for the historic part of town dating back to Roman times. Its festivities in August are also well known due to the main event that occurs every year on the last Friday of August, known as la ''batalla de flores'' (the battle of the flowers), during which large floats entirely covered with flowers and petals are paraded along the central streets. Laredo Heat is an American soccer team based in Laredo, Texas, United States. Founded in 2004, the team plays in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. They were members of the USL Premier Development League from 2004 to 2015. The club was on hiatus for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. The Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (''Owls of the Two Laredos''), formerly known as the Tecolotes de Nuevo Laredo (''Owls of Nuevo Laredo''), are a Minor League Baseball team based in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, and Laredo, Texas in the Mexican League. The Laredo Law was a 2004 af2 expansion team, the minor league for the Arena Football League. They played their home games at the Laredo Entertainment Center in Laredo, Texas. The Laredo Bucks were an ice hockey team in the Central Hockey League. The Bucks played in Laredo, Texas, United States at the Laredo Energy Arena, formerly known as the Laredo Entertainment Center. The Laredo Apaches were a minor league baseball team from Laredo, Texas that existed in two different incarnations: 1949-53 and again in 1995. History The original Apaches were one of the six charter franchises of the Class D Rio Grande Valley League in 1949, having been preceded in Laredo by the Laredo Bermudas of the Southwest Texas League (1910–1911) and the Laredo Oilers, who played as members of the Gulf Coast League in 1926 and Texas Valley League in 1927. Club Deportivo Laredo is a Spanish football team based in Laredo, in the autonomous community of Cantabria. Founded in 1927, it plays in Segunda División RFEF – Group 1, holding home matches at ''Campo de Fútbol San Lorenzo'', which has a capacity of 2,500.
