Laredo Broncos
The Laredo Broncos were a professional baseball team based in Laredo, Texas, in the United States. The Broncos were a member of United League Baseball, an independent professional league which was not affiliated with Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball. From the 2006 season to 2010, the Broncos played their home games at Veterans Field. History In their first season, after a disappointing 5-15 start, the Broncos earned respect by having a winning record down the stretch and winning 11 of their last 16 games, making a trip to the playoffs where they pushed the first place Edinburg Coyotes to their limit before being eliminated. The American Association of Professional Baseball is an independent professional baseball league founded in 2005. José Canseco Capas Jr. (born July 2, 1964), nicknamed Parkway Jose, Mr. 40-40 and El Cañonero Cubano (The Cuban Cannon), is a Cuban-American former Major League Baseball (MLB) outfielder and designated hitter. During his time with the Oakland Athletics, he established himself as one of the premier power hitters in the game. John Odom (baseball)
John C. Odom (January 6, 1982 – November 5, 2008) was a minor league baseball right-handed pitcher notable for being traded for ten baseball bats while playing in the independent Golden Baseball League in May 2008. Before his stint in the Golden Baseball League, Odom played baseball at Tallahassee Community College and in the minor-league system of the San Francisco Giants. Because of the trade, Odom was known to fans as "Bat Man", "Bat Guy" and "Bat Boy." Odom left baseball three weeks after the trade, and he died of an accidental drug overdose a few months later. The Laredo Lemurs were a professional baseball team based in Laredo, Texas, that played in the independent American Association from 2012 to 2016. The team played their home games at the Uni-Trade Stadium in Laredo, replacing the Laredo Broncos of United League Baseball. The team withdrew from the league prior to the start of the 2017 season.
