Laredo Bucks
The Laredo Bucks were an ice hockey team in the Central Hockey League. The Bucks played in Laredo, Texas, United States at the Laredo Energy Arena, formerly known as the Laredo Entertainment Center. On May 1, 2012, the management, citing declining attendance and revenue reversals, announced that the team would suspend operations for the following season, with hopes of returning or relocating the team. On August 1, it was announced that the Laredo Bucks were sold and moved to St. Charles, Missouri and would be renamed the St. Charles Chill. History Arena Ventures, made up of six businessmen, teamed up with the City of Laredo to build a state-of-the-art facility for the Laredo area and South Texas. USA Central Hockey League
The USA Central Hockey League (USACHL) was a junior ice hockey league based in Texas. The league was not sanctioned by any outside hockey governing body, but was structured as a "free-to-play" junior league similar to USA Hockey's Tier I and Tier II as opposed to the "pay-to-play" Tier III leagues. Ray Miron President's Cup
The Ray Miron President's Cup is a trophy that was awarded to the playoff champion of the Central Hockey League (CHL) from 2002 until 2014, when the remaining CHL teams joined the ECHL. The trophy was known as The William "Bill" Levins Memorial Cup from 1992 until 2000, when the honour was renamed the Ray Miron Cup. (Bill Levins and Ray Miron being the co-founders of the CHL). From 1997-2001, the WPHL's playoff champion was awarded the "President's Cup", so when the CHL and the Western Professional Hockey League merged following their 2000-01 seasons, the CHL combined the traditions of the two leagues by renaming the trophy the "Ray Miron President's Cup". The "Playoff Most Valuable Player" award was also given out as part of the Ray Miron President's Cup Championship ceremonies. Julian Luis "Kiki" DeAyala (born October 23, 1961 in Miami, Florida) is a former American football linebacker in the United States Football League and the National Football League. The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees were a minor league professional ice hockey team that played in the Central Hockey League. The team was based in the Rio Grande Valley in Hidalgo, Texas, just south of McAllen, and played their home games at State Farm Arena. Corpus Christi IceRays (1998–2010)
The Corpus Christi IceRays were a minor-league ice hockey team based in Corpus Christi, Texas affiliated with the Western Professional Hockey League from 1998–2001, and with the Central Hockey League from 2001 to 2010. The "IceRays" moniker derives from the many different species of stingrays who inhabit the nearby Gulf of Mexico. The 2009–10 CHL season was the 18th season of the Central Hockey League (CHL). The season run from October 16, 2009 until March 20, 2010, followed with the Ray Miron President's Cup playoffs. The 2010 Central Hockey League All-Star Game was on January 13, 2010 at the Laredo Entertainment Center. The season ended on May 4, 2010 when the Rapid City Rush defeated the Allen Americans in double overtime. Terry Ruskowski
Terry W. "Roscoe" Ruskowski (born December 31, 1954) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre and coach, who played for the Chicago Black Hawks, Los Angeles Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Minnesota North Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL), and for the Houston Aeros and Winnipeg Jets of the World Hockey Association (WHA). Ruskowski's leadership on the ice was recognized with his tenure as captain of the Aeros, Blackhawks, Kings, and Penguins, the only player in major professional history to captain four clubs. As a coach, Ruskowski was most recently the head coach and general manager for the Quad City Mallards of the ECHL. Brent Cullaton
Brent Cullaton (born November 12, 1974) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player. He is also a three-time Central Hockey League all-star. During his final professional seasons in the CHL, Cullaton also served as the General Manager and Head Coach for the Boulder Junior Bison of the Western States Hockey League until 2012. With his most successful years in the Central Hockey League with the Rocky Mountain Rage, Cullaton remained in Colorado as his primary residence. Cullaton joined the newly established Denver Cutthroats of the CHL as the Assistant General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations.
