The LEB Plata is the third basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system and the second basketball division organized by the Spanish Basketball Federation. Since 2019, three teams are promoted to LEB Oro and six teams are relegated to Liga EBA. 2001–02 LEB 2 Season
The 2001–02 LEB 2 season was the 2nd season of the LEB 2 The LEB Plata is the third basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system and the second basketball division organized by the Spanish Basketball Federation. Since 2019, three teams are promoted to Liga Española de Baloncesto, LEB Oro ..., second league of the Liga Española de Baloncesto and third division in Spain. Competition format 16 teams play the regular season. This is a round robin, where each team will play twice against every rival. After the regular season, the eight first qualified teams played a playoff, were the two finalists promoted to LEB. The last qualified team was relegated to Liga EBA, with the loser of the relegation playoffs, played by the 16th and the 17th qualified teams. CB Atapuerca
Club Baloncesto Atapuerca, more commonly known as (Autocid) Ford Burgos by sponsorship reasons, was a professional basketball team based in Burgos, Castilla y León and played in the Polideportivo El Plantío, in LEB Gold league. History The club born as CD Maristas started to play in lower division with that team. CD Maristas reached the Liga EBA in the 98–99 season and competed in that league during three years. In 2001, the club became independent of the ''Liceo Castilla'' school and gets the name of CB Atapuerca, more recently becoming known as Autocid Ford Burgos for sponsorship reasons. CB Alcúdia
Club Bàsquet Alcúdia is a professional basketball team based in Alcúdia, Balearic Islands that is not currently registered in any competition. In season 2007–08, the team played in LEB Oro. History CB Alcúdia played in balearic competitions until 2004-05, when they merge with CB Aracena and they play in LEB Plata with the name of Alcúdia-Aracena. With Eloy Doce as coach, they reach the LEB Oro in their first season. Due to problems with the pavilion, the team goes to Palma Arena in Palma de Mallorca where plays the LEB Oro matches until 2007-08 season with the sponsorship name Palma Aqua Màgica. Palma reaches the play-offs two times in a row. Club Bàsquet L'Hospitalet, also known as Torrons Vicens L'Hospitalet for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball team based in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Catalonia and plays in the Complex Esportiu L'Hospitalet Nord, in LEB Plata league. Club Bàsquet Valls is a basketball club based in Valls, Catalonia, Spain that currently plays in Liga EBA, the fourth tier of Spanish basketball. History Founded in 1952, its first success came in 1993 when the club qualified for the promotion playoffs to the Primera División, at that time the second tier. In 1995 the club was promoted to Liga EBA after finishing champion of the promotion stage played in Monzón. In 2001, Valls made its debut in LEB 2, third tier. In its first season, it qualified for the promotion playoffs but was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
