''Lô Borges'' is the debut solo album by Brazilian songwriter Lô Borges. Background While recording ''Clube da Esquina'' alongside Milton Nascimento and Beto Guedes, Lô Borges was pressured by Odeon Records to release a solo album. Borges, only nineteen years old at the time, wrote the album very quickly, sometimes writing a song in the morning and recording it that night. The album did not achieve much success at its release, although it gained cult status in the following decades. After the release of this album, Borges would not release another album until 1979's ''A Via Lactea''. Alex Turner, lead singer of the band Arctic Monkeys, said that the song "Aos barões" of the album by Lô Borges served as inspiration for the production of the album ''Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino''. Lô Borges
Salomão Borges Filho (born January 10, 1952), known professionally as Lô Borges (), is a Brazilian songwriter, singer, and guitarist. He was one of the founders of Clube da Esquina, a group of musicians that originated in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. He co-authored with Milton Nascimento the album '' Clube da Esquina'' in 1972, which was a milestone in Brazilian popular music. Alexander David Turner (born 6 January 1986) is an English musician. He is the lead vocalist and songwriter of the rock band Arctic Monkeys. Turner is known for his Songwriter, lyricism ranging from kitchen sink realism to surrealism, surrealist wordplay, which has been praised by music critics. Beto Guedes
Alberto de Castro Guedes (born August 13, 1951) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Biography Beto Guedes has been playing in bands since he was a teenager. When he was 18 years old he took part in the V Singers International Festival, with the song "Feira Moderna" composed jointly with Fernando Brant. He formed the musical group Clube da Esquina with Milton Nascimento, Lô Borges, and Fernando Brant. The Minas Gerais folk music tradition was the group's main influence, along with 1960s rock and choro. His next band was 14 Bis.
