Beto Guedes
Alberto de Castro Guedes (born August 13, 1951) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Biography Beto Guedes has been playing in bands since he was a teenager. When he was 18 years old he took part in the V Singers International Festival, with the song "Feira Moderna" composed jointly with Fernando Brant. He formed the musical group Clube da Esquina with Milton Nascimento, Lô Borges, and Fernando Brant. The Minas Gerais folk music tradition was the group's main influence, along with 1960s rock and choro. His next band was 14 Bis. In 1977 he recorded his first album, ''A Página do Relâmpago Elétrico'', which was an unexpected success. In 1978 he issued the LP ''Amor de Índio'', whose title song was Guedes's biggest career success. Montes Claros
Montes Claros is a city located in northern Minas Gerais state, in Brazil. The population is 413,487 (2020 est.) in an area of . It was made a seat of a municipality in 1831 and attained city status in 1857. History The region was originally inhabited by the and Amerindians. The first Portuguese settlers arrived in this region during the eighteenth century. In 1707 they formed three great ranches: Jaiba, Olhos d'Água and Montes Claros. The latter was created by Antônio Gonçalves Figueira. In order to get his cattle to market Figueira opened up roads to Tranqueiras in Bahia and to the São Francisco River Soon the Fazenda de Montes Claros became the greatest producer of cattle in the north of Minas Gerais, and a small village was formed. Flávio Venturini
Flávio Hugo Venturini (born July 23, 1949) is a Brazilian singer and songwriter. Biography Venturini took an early interest in music at the age of three. When he was fifteen he began his musical training. His first musical instrument was the accordion. After his father presented him with a piano, he started his studies at the Fundação de Educação Artística in Belo Horizonte, where he studied musical perception and piano. Venturini was revealed in the 1970s by the musical movement Clube da Esquina, together with Milton Nascimento, Lô Borges, Beto Guedes, among others. ''Choro'' (, "cry" or "lament"), also popularly called ''chorinho'' ("little cry" or "little lament"), is an instrumental Brazilian popular music genre which originated in 19th century Rio de Janeiro. Despite its name, the music often has a fast and happy rhythm. It is characterized by virtuosity, improvisation and subtle modulations, and is full of syncopation and counterpoint. Choro is considered the first characteristically Brazilian genre of urban popular music. The serenaders who play choros are known as ''chorões''. Choro instruments Originally ''choro'' was played by a trio of flute, guitar and cavaquinho (a small chordophone with four strings).
