Lunar Legend
is a role-playing video game for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance developed by Japan Art Media and published internationally by Ubi Soft, who also provided the translation. It is a re-telling of the events of '' Lunar: The Silver Star'' with story and content changes. All the characters from the original game appear. Gameplay ''Lunar Legend'' plays very much like a traditional RPG, with 2D character sprites and environments. Unlike ''Lunar: The Silver Star'', the battles do not consist of characters moving across the battlefield to attack enemies, instead having them retreat back to their original positions after attacking. The battles themselves are random, occurring every few steps within a dungeon or in scripted circumstances. By gaining experience after each fight, characters can level up, gaining new abilities and becoming stronger in the process. Founded in October 1989 as a music and video packaging firm, it since became a distributor and producer of electronic entertainment. The company has been involved with several video game developers on a number of systems beginning with the PC Engine in 1990, and was primarily known for their ''Zero4 Champ'' racing game series, as well as the Game Boy Advance title '' Lunar Legend''. The Sega CD, released as the in most regions outside North America and Brazil, is a CD-ROM accessory for the Sega Genesis produced by Sega as part of the fourth generation of video game consoles. It was released on December 12, 1991, in Japan, October 15, 1992, in North America, and April 2, 1993, in Europe. The Sega CD plays Compact disc, CD games and adds hardware functionality such as a faster central processing unit, CPU and graphic enhancements such as Sprite (computer graphics), sprite scaling and rotation. GameRankings was a video gaming review aggregator that was founded in 1999 and owned by CBS Interactive. It indexed over 315,000 articles relating to more than 14,500 video games. GameRankings was discontinued in December 2019, with its staff being merged with the similar aggregator Metacritic. Rankings GameRankings collected and linked to (but did not host) reviews from other websites and magazines and averages specific ones. While hundreds of reviews may get listed, only the ones that GameRankings deemed notable were used for the average. Scores were culled from numerous American and European sources.
