Louis Vuitton Acts
The Louis Vuitton Acts were a series of International America's Cup Class regattas leading up to the 2007 Louis Vuitton Cup and 2007 America's Cup. Thirteen regattas or acts were held in total. These regattas involved all eleven challengers plus the holder of the America's Cup, Alinghi, and allowed the challengers to earn bonus points that went towards the Louis Vuitton Cup. The 2004-2007 period was the first time this format had been used in America's Cup racing. 2004 ACC Championship The 2004 ACC Championship was won by Team New Zealand. * The two teams that DNC in Act 1 received 7 points. Act 1 Act One was sailed in Marseille, France. The Act was scheduled to consist of six fleet races and a round robin of match races, however two fleet races were canceled due to poor weather. International America's Cup Class
The International Americas Cup Class is a class of racing yacht that was developed for the America's Cup between 1992 and 2007. These yachts, while not identical, were all designed to the same formula to offer designers the freedom to experiment whilst keeping the boats sufficiently comparable to race in real time. The class was established for the 1992 America's Cup because of perceived shortcomings of the 12-metre class, which had been used in the America's Cup since 1958. In addition to the America's Cup, IACC yachts were raced in other regattas, including the IACC worlds. IACC Sail numbers IACC sail numbers were issued according to the date when the ACM measurement committee decided that the hull has reached a certain stage of completion. K Challenge
Orient Express Racing Team is a French yacht racing team that competes in International America's Cup Class races. The team has formally competed as K-Challenge, Areva Challenge (between 2005 and 2007) and ALL4ONE Challenge. History As Areva Challenge they participated in the Louis Vuitton Cup 2007, the challenger series held prior to the 32nd America's Cup. They were eliminated in the Round Robin phase. They also competed in the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series in 2009 and are part of the Louis Vuitton Trophy, hosting the Louis Vuitton Trophy - Nice event. In February 2023 the team was rebranded to Orient Express Racing Team after sponsorship from Orient Express and Accor. +39 Challenge was a yacht racing team established in 2004 that competed for the Louis Vuitton Cup 2007, the challenger series held prior to the America's Cup. The teams was based at the Yacht club "Circolo Vela Gargnano" in Gargnano, Italy, and was owned by Lorenzo Rizzardi, the president of the club. Originally named the "Clan Des Team", +39 was the first team to join BMW Oracle Racing on the challenger list for the 2007 America's Cup. Prior experience Prior to competing for the Louis Vuitton Cup in 2007, some of the team had previous experience in international yachting as competitors in the Finn class at the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics.
