Los TNT
Los TNT () were an Italian-Uruguayan rock 'n' roll band, popular in the 1960s. The band consisted of two brothers and a sister from Udine, Italy: Edelweiss "Tim" Croatto (born 1936), Hermes "Tony" Croatto (1939 - 2005), and Argentina "Nelly" Croatto (born 1941). The acronym and word play TNT comes from their nicknames. The family emigrated to La Paz, Uruguay in 1946, and in 1953 they moved to Montevideo, where they started to sing. In 1959 they moved to Buenos Aires, and they were discovered and hired by Argentine record label RCA Victor in 1960. Their first single was "Eso", which sold more than 100,000 copies in Argentina and became a success also in Mexico and most South American countries. Their first album, ''Los Fabulosos TNT'', was published late in 1960. The second album, ''La Gira Triunfal por Latinoamérica de los TNT'' was published right after a tour through Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and Chile, in 1961. Spain has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 61 times since making its debut in , where they finished ninth. Algo Prodigioso
Spain took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 1963. The country was represented by José Guardiola with the song "Algo prodigioso". Before Eurovision Selection Conflicting reports state that TVE's aim was to use the ''Festival de la Canción Mediterránea'' (Mediterranean Song Festival) as the national final, while others maintain that TVE's intention was to select internally one of the performers that had won a prize in one of the many song festivals that used to take place across the Spanish geography. José Guardiola had won the 1962 Mediterranean Song Festival with the song "Nubes de colores", but the result was declared null and void the day after the festival because a fix was discovered in the voting process. Paper ballots were sold to the audience in the hall; however, by the end of the festival, more ballots were counted in the box than the number that had been sold. José Guardiola
José Guardiola Díaz de Rada, (22 October 1930 – 9 April 2012) was a Spanish singer of popular music who sang in Spanish and Catalan. Guardiola was born in Barcelona. He performed and recorded mostly Spanish versions of foreign songs and reached his maximum fame in Spain and Latin America in the early 1960s with versions of songs like "Sixteen Tons", "Mack the Knife" and "Ya Mustafa". He was known as ''the Spanish Crooner'' due to his style and the types of songs he sang. He represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 1963, placing 12th. At that time he also sang a few songs with his infant daughter. He retired in 2008. Caracola (song)
Spain took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 1964. The country was represented by Italian-Uruguayan band Los TNT with the song "Caracola", written by Fina de Calderón. The song was chosen through a national final, while the performers were chosen internally by TVE. Before Eurovision National final The Spanish song was chosen during the TV show ''Gran Parada'', hosted by Carmina Alonso and Ana María Solsona from Barcelona. It was the viewers that decided the winning song by sending postcards by mail. Each song was presented twice by two different singers. In the final that took place on 18 February, the song "Caracola" performed by Michel and Teresa María, respectively, was proclaimed the winner. The Eurovision Song Contest 1964 was the 9th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, following the country's victory at the with the song "Dansevise" by Grethe & Jørgen Ingmann. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Danmarks Radio (DR), the contest was held at Tivolis Koncertsal on 21 March 1964, and was hosted by Danish TV presenter Lotte Wæver.
