Little Bear (TV Series)
''Little Bear'' is a Canadian children's animated series produced by Nelvana Limited in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It is based on the '' Little Bear'' series of books, which were written by Else Holmelund Minarik and illustrated by Maurice Sendak. In the United States, the show premiered on Nickelodeon as part of the Nick Jr. block on November 6, 1995 until the final episode aired on June 1, 2001. The show also aired on CBS on Saturday mornings from September 16, 2000 until September 15, 2001. Every half-hour episode of ''Little Bear'' is divided into three seven-minute segments. Most segments are new stories, but some are retellings of Else Holmelund Minarik's books (both she and Sendak were "closely involved in the creative process" when developing the new stories). The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (french: Société Radio-Canada), branded as CBC/Radio-Canada, is a Canadian public broadcaster for both radio and television. The Little Bear Movie
''The Little Bear Movie'' is a 2001 animated adventure film based on the television series '' Little Bear'', which in turn is based on the book series of the same name which was written by Else Holmelund Minarik and illustrated by Maurice Sendak. It was produced by Nelvana Limited and Wild Things Productions. The film was released direct-to-video on August 7, 2001 by Paramount Home Entertainment in the United States and Canada. It stars Kristin Fairlie as the voice of Little Bear and her brother Kyle Fairlie as the voice of Cub. Plot Little Bear and Father Bear set out on a camping trip. Nick Jr
Nick Jr. (known on-air as the Nick Jr. Channel) is an American pay television channel spun off from Nickelodeon's long-running programming block of the same name. It is run by Paramount Global through its networks division's Kids and Family Group. The channel launched on September 28, 2009, and primarily targets preschoolers. Its lineup features a mix of originally-produced programming, along with series from the Nickelodeon weekday block; because of the two entities, Nick Jr. is known on-air as "the Nick Jr. Channel" (as of March 2018) to avoid confusion, especially at times of day where both services are carrying preschool programming. ''Little Bear'' is a series of children's books, primarily involving the interaction of Little Bear (an anthropomorphic cub) and Mother Bear (his mother), written by Else Holmelund Minarik and illustrated by Maurice Sendak. Originally, the stories were simple, but eventually became more sophisticated in subsequent books as the plot and characters expanded. The first four ''Little Bear'' books consist of four stories, each of which involves Little Bear and a slowly expanding cast of support characters, each named after their respective species. The Little Bear character and his immediate family display many bear-like characteristics and mannerisms, but only on occasion. They live in a culture and technology which seems to be the woodland version of a ''Little House on the Prairie'' setting, but with wealthier items. Dolby Pro Logic is a surround sound processing technology developed by Dolby Laboratories, designed to decode soundtracks encoded with Dolby Surround.
