Numerous castles (''Burgen'') and palaces (''Schlösser'') are found in the German state of Saxony. These buildings, some of which have a history of over 1000 years, were the setting of historical events, domains of famous personalities and are still imposing buildings to this day. This list encompasses buildings described in German as ''Burg'' (castle), ''Schloss'' (palace or stately home), ''Festung'' (fort/fortress), ''Herrenhaus'' (manor house) and ''Palais''/''Palast'' (palace). After the middle ages many of these buildings were remodelled or built as royal or ducal palaces or as stately homes rather than as fortified buildings. Saxony

Oybin ( hsb, Ojbin, ) is a municipality in the Görlitz district, in Saxony, Germany, located very close to the border of the Czech Republic. Following the defeat of the Protestant armies by the Habsburgs in the Battle of the White Mountain in 1620, many Protestant Czechs found refuge across the border in the hills of Upper Lusatia. It is a "''Kurort''", a resort or spa certified by the state, where people go for rest and recuperation. It is most famous for its mountain of the same name, an exposed natural sandstone dome that towers above the town. Bad Muskau
Bad Muskau (; formerly ''Muskau'', hsb, Mužakow, pl, Mużaków, cs, Mužakov) is a spa town in the historic Upper Lusatia region in Germany, at the border with Poland. It is part of the Görlitz district in the State of Saxony. It is located on the banks of the Lusatian Neisse river. The town is part of the recognized Sorbian settlement area in Saxony. Schloss Muskau
Schloss Muskau (Muskau palace) is a ''schloss'' in the Görlitz district in the state of Saxony, Germany. It is located in an extended park, the ''Muskau Park'', since July 2004 a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The building complex was developed over a long period. The present main building, called ''Neues Schloss'' (New Palace), was built in the 19th century in Neo-Renaissance style, burnt down in 1945, and after decades as a ruin, was reconstructed until 2013. Radeberg
Radeberg is a small town in the district of Bautzen, Saxony, Germany. It is located approximately 20 kilometres north-east of Dresden. The town has an Evangelical and a Roman Catholic church, and an old castle. History Radeberg was mentioned for the first time in 1219, when farmers settled on the country to the large Roeder. The name of the place is probably derived from this river. In less than 150 years a market place, a castle and own units developed. In the year 1412 the municipal law was lent to the small market town. 500 years ago silver was found close of the town. The discovery site was thereupon renamed as Silver Hill.
