Liquid Loft
Liquid Loft is an internationally active dance company based in Vienna, Austria. It was jointly founded in 2005 by the choreographer Chris Haring, the dancer Stephanie Cumming, the musician Andreas Berger and the dramaturge . Performances Liquid Loft create stage performances and installations at the intersection of contemporary dance and visual arts, with the sound environment and musical composition playing an integral part of the creative development. In 2007 Liquid Loft was awarded the Golden Lion for “Best Performance” for the piece ''Posing Project B – The Art of Seduction'' at the Biennale di Venezia. Science Fiction and the reception of cyborg theory count as the major sources of inspiration for their work. In their performances Liquid Loft reflect, among other things, on the change in our perception through visual media and the everyday use of technology. Chris Haring
Christian Haring (* 18 December 1970, Schattendorf) is an Austrian Dancer and Choreographer. He is founder and artistic director of the dance compagnie Liquid Loft. Life Chris Haring studied at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna and in New York, within others at Cunningham School. He worked as a dancer with compagnies like Nikolais/Luis Dance Cie. (US), man act (GB), Nigel Charnock (GB), DV8 Physical Theatre (GB), Cie. Willi Dorner (AT) and Pilottanzt (AT). For his own choreografies we worked with fine artists such as Erwin Wurm, Michel Blazy and Aldo Giannotti, musician Peter Rehberg or media artist Klaus Obermaier. Together with filmmaker Mara Mattuschka. he co-directed movies based on his performances. Together with the musician Andreas Berger, dancer Stephanie Cumming and dramaturg Thomas J. Contemporary dance is a genre of dance performance that developed during the mid-twentieth century and has since grown to become one of the dominant genres for formally trained dancers throughout the world, with particularly strong popularity in the U.S. and Europe. Although originally informed by and borrowing from classical, modern, and jazz styles, it has come to incorporate elements from many styles of dance. The Golden Lion ( it, Leone d'oro) is the highest prize given to a film at the Venice Film Festival. The prize was introduced in 1949 by the organizing committee and is now regarded as one of the film industry's most prestigious and distinguished prizes. Jin Xing
Jin Xing (; born August 13, 1967) is a Chinese ballerina, modern dancer, choreographer, actress, founder and artistic director of the contemporary dance company Shanghai. She is a transgender celebrity. Early life Jin was born in 1967 in Shenyang, China, to an ethnic Korean family ( Chosŏnjok). Jin studied in a local Chosonjok-Chinese elementary school. Her mother was a translator, and her father was a military intelligence officer. She was noted for her intelligence, and had won abacus contests many times. Aldo Giannotti
Aldo Giannotti (born in 1977) is an Italian-Austrian artist. A native of Genoa, has grown up in Massa, Tuscany. He lives and work in Vienna since 2000. Biography Aldo Giannotti studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara (Italy) with Omar Galliani. He furthered his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Wimbledon (England) in video and at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich, Akademie der Bildenden Kunste Munich in photography. Mara Mattuschka
Mara Mattuschka (born 22 May 1959) is an Austrian ''avant-garde'' filmmaker. Life Mattuschka was born in Sofia in Bulgaria in 1959. At the age of 17, in 1976, she moved to Vienna to study Ethnology and Linguistics. In 1983, she entered Maria Lassnig's masterclass in animation and painting at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and started making her first short films. Her graduation film ''Der Einzug des Rokoko ins Inselreich der Huzis'' caused a small scandal at the university in 1989, because it mixed animation, theatre, performance, music and fine arts. She graduated in 1990. From 1997 until 2001 she taught arts at Braunschweig University of Art in Germany. She also taught at University of Art and Design Linz. Andrea Amort
Andrea Amort (born 1958, Linz) is an Austrian dance critic, dance historian, playwright, festival and exhibition curator as well as a non-fiction writer. Life Andrea Amort studied modern dance and classical ballet with Erika Gangl and Andrei Jerschik in Linz, and Theatre Studies at the University of Vienna, where she received her doctorate in 1982 with a thesis on the story of the ballet of the Vienna State Opera from 1918 to 1942. From 1981 to 2009, she was a dance critic and sometimes also an editor and deputy director of the cultural department of Vienna's Daily Kurier. Presently she writes for international media and trade magazines.
