Les Échets Station
Les Échets station ( French: ''Gare des Échets'') is a French railway station located in the Les Échets neighbourhood of the commune of Miribel, Ain department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It is located at kilometric point (KP) 20.727 on the Lyon–Bourg-en-Bresse railway, between Sathonay-Rillieux and Mionnay stations. Miribel station, also located in the commune along the Rhône is located on the Lyon—Geneva railway. The station was put into service in 1866 by the Compagnie de la Dombes. As of 2020, the station is owned and operated by the SNCF and served by TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes trains. History The "''station des Échets''" was put into service by the Compagnie de la Dombes, on 1 September 1866, along with the opening of railway between Sathonay and Bourg-en-Bresse. Villars-les-Dombes Station
Villars-les-Dombes (, literally ''Villars near Dombes'') is a commune in the Ain department in eastern France. Its people are known as ''Villardois''. Geography The town is located within Ain, half-way between Lyon (33 km) and Bourg-en-Bresse (29 km), in the heart of the area known as the Dombes, notable for its hundreds of lakes which are waterfowl habitats and are suitable for breeding fish. Its ornithological park, Parc des Oiseaux, is the largest in France. The Chalaronne river forms part of the commune's south-western border, flows northward through the western part of the commune, crosses the town, then forms part of its northern border. The Honour medal of railroads (french: "médaille d’honneur des chemins de fer") is a state decoration bestowed by the French Republic in the form of an honour medal for work. It was originally meant to reward, depending on the quality and length of time calculated in calendar years, the services rendered by French agents and labourers and to nationals of the French Union or French protectorate (other), protectorates, in service with the railroads.
