It was released on December 22, 1999 in Japan and on August 29, 2000 in North America. Inspired by Norse mythology, ''Valkyrie Profile'' follows the titular valkyrie, Lenneth, as she travels through Midgard, collecting the souls of slain heroes to serve either as einherjar or her personal companions for Ragnarok - the battle to decide the fate of all creation - and trains them by fighting monsters and performing additional quests. ''Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria'' ( ja, ヴァルキリープロファイル2 シルメリア) is the second installment of the '' Valkyrie Profile'' series, which was developed by tri-Ace and published by Square Enix. It was released for PlayStation 2 in 2006 in Japan and North America, and in 2007 in Australia and Europe. It went on to be re-released as a Square Enix "Ultimate Release". Taking place hundreds of years before the original game, the story revolves around two characters living in the same body named Silmeria and Alicia. is a role-playing video game developed by Dokidoki Groove Works and published by Square Enix for Android and iOS. The game is set in an alternate world from ''Valkyrie Profile'' and was released in Japan in April 2016 and worldwide in April 2019. Motoi Sakuraba
is a Japanese composer and keyboardist. He is known for his numerous contributions in video games, such as for '' Tales'', ''Star Ocean'', ''Mario Golf'', ''Mario Tennis'', '' Golden Sun'', and ''Dark Souls'' series, as well as several other anime series, television dramas, and progressive rock albums. Career Sakuraba was born on August 5, 1965, in Akita Prefecture, Japan.
