Achille Lega
Achille Lega (21 April 1899 – 28 January 1934) was an Italian painter. His early work was in the futurist style and he later became a cubist. Lega was born in Brisighella but lived in Florence from the age of ten. He first studied painting with Ludovico Tommasi, who belonged to the Postmacchiaioli movement. In 1914, he enrolled into the Academy of Fine Arts but abandoned the studies after two years. Lega's first notable painting, ''The Pier of Livorno'', was produced in 1914 under the influence of Tommasi, however, it went well beyond emulating the style of Tommasi. In July 1915, Lega was invited to participate in a collective art exhibition in Pistoia. In subsequent years, he was interested in such subjects as rural life, painting in a strongly simplified manner. David Lega
Michael David Alexander Lega (born 12 October 1973) is a Swedish politician for the Christian Democrats, and a former paralympic swimmer who beat 14 world records during his career. He is a Member of the European Parliament since 2019, and serves on the Committee on foreign affairs and the Committee of human rights. Early life and career Lega was born with the congenital disease arthrogryposis. He became a paralympic swimmer, competing in the Paralympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 and Sydney in 2000, and the IPC Swimming World Championships in 1994 and 1998. He won three gold medals in the 1998 IPC Championships. Lega retired as a swimmer after the 2000 Paralympic Games and became a public speaker and entrepreneur. Capitano Giulio Lega was a World War I flying ace credited with five aerial victories. After finishing the war, he completed medical school, and began a near lifelong career caring for the Italian Chamber of Deputies. Early life and service Giulio Lega was born in Florence on 12 November 1892.Franks et al 1997, pp. 141-142. He was a medical student when he was accepted for officer's training in 1915. Because of his height, he became an "extended infantryman" in the Grenadiers. Michele Lega S.T.D. J.U.D. (1 January 1860 – 16 December 1935) was a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church who served as Prefect of the Congregation for the Discipline of Sacraments. Silvestro Lega (8 December 1826 – 21 September 1895) was an Italian Realism (art), realist painter. He was one of the leading artists of the Macchiaioli and was also involved with the Mazzini movement. Biography He was born in Modigliana, near Forlì, to an affluent family.
