Leena Khamis
Leena Khamis (born 19 June 1986) is an Australian soccer player who plays for Perth Glory in the A-League Women. Biography Khamis was born in the Sydney suburb of Camden and is of Assyrian heritage. Her family is heavily involved in football, her father played the game before emigrating to Australia from Iraq and two of her sisters are involved at Sydney FC. Her older sister, Linda, is an assistant coach and her younger sister, Sham, is a team-mate. Playing career She represented Australia at the 2004 FIFA World Under 19 Women's Championship in Thailand. She finished the inaugural W-League season as top scorer with 7 goals, winning the Golden Boot award. Khamis made her full international debut for Australia in July 2008 in a match against China in Beijing. After playing at Sydney FC since their inaugural season, Khamis signed with Western Sydney Wanderers for the 2018–19 season. Sydney Football Club Women is an Australian women's football club based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It competes in the A-League Women, the top tier of women's football in Australia. The club is directly affiliated with Sydney FC. History Establishment The formation of the W-League in October 2008 saw the league composed of eight teams. Seven of the eight clubs were directly affiliated with the A-League clubs, Sydney FC being one. The women's team shares the men's club name and colours. 2004 FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship
The 2004 FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship was held from 10 to 27 November 2004. It was the second edition of the youth tournament for women put together by FIFA, before being renamed FIFA U-20 Women's World Championship for the 2006 edition. The tournament was hosted by Thailand, in two stadiums in Bangkok, one in Chiang Mai and another in Phuket. This was the first FIFA women's tournament held in Southeast Asia. The Chengdu Sports Center () or Sichuan Provincial Sports Center () is a sports complex with a multiuse stadium in Chengdu, China which is used mostly for soccer matches. North Sydney Oval
North Sydney Oval is a multi-use sporting facility in North Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, owned and operated by North Sydney Council. First used as a cricket ground in 1867, it is also used for Australian rules football, rugby league, rugby union and soccer. History Development The first cricket pitch was laid on 6 December 1867, making it one of the oldest cricket grounds in Australia.
