Lea-Jasmine Riecke
Lea-Jasmin Riecke (born 25 April 2000) is a German athlete who won the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships in the long jump. Career Lea-Jasmin Riecke won the silver medal at the German Youth All-Around Championships in Lage in 2015 . She won gold in the 4 x 200m relay at the German Youth Indoor Championships in Dortmund in 2016 and took part in the 2016 European Youth Championships in Tbilisi. In 2017 she became German U18 long jump champion at the German Youth Championships in Ulm with a distance of 6.19m. She then won the gold medal in the long jump at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships in Tampere with a personal best 6.51m. At the German Youth Championships in 2018 in Rostock she gained gold medals in the long jump with 6.34m jump and in the 4x100m relay from. Long Jump
The long jump is a track and field event in which athletes combine speed, strength and agility in an attempt to leap as far as possible from a takeoff point. Along with the triple jump, the two events that measure jumping for distance as a group are referred to as the "horizontal jumps". IAAF World U20 Championships
The World Athletics U20 Championships is a biennial world championships for the sport of athletics organised by the World Athletics, contested by athletes in the under-20 athletics age category (19 years old or younger on 31 December in the year of the competition. The competition was launched as the IAAF World Junior Championships in Athletics in 1986 and renamed to IAAF World U20 Championships in November 2015. The current name was adapted with the name change of the sports governing body in 2019. Anneisha McLaughlin-Whilby is the most successful athlete at the championships, having won one gold and four silver in individual and relay sprinting events between 2000 and 2004. Merle Homeier (born 27 August 1999) is a German track and field athlete who competes as a long jumper. Early life Homeier studied biology at Leibniz University Hannover. In 2018 she became the German U20 long jump champion indoors and was runner up to Lea-Jasmine Riecke at the U20 German outdoor championships.
