History With the arrival of the railways of São Paulo Railway in 1867 and Estrada de Ferro Sorocabana in 1875 to the region of Lapa, the English railway implanted the first station in the neighbourhood. Because of that, Sorocabana couldn't build their station, due to legal affairs. Therefore, Sorocabana had to wait until the end of the SPR concession to build their station. Palmeiras-Barra Funda (CPTM)
Palmeiras-Barra Funda, also known only as Barra Funda, is a train station on CPTM Line 7-Ruby and ViaMobilidade Line 8-Diamond, in the district of Barra Funda in São Paulo. History The first railway to open a station in Barra Funda was the Estrada de Ferro Sorocabana, on 10 July 1875. On 19 May 1892, São Paulo Railway opened their station, a few meter ahead, after Viaduto Pacaembu. The stations were isolated from each other. The idea of integration between the suburban trains and Metro began in the 1980s. The current station was built by the São Paulo Metro with resources from the State and Federal Governments, in the location of the old Estrada de Ferro Sorocabana station, to attend the East-West Line (current Line 3-Red) and unify in only one station the FEPASA and CBTU commuter trains. Domingos de Moraes is a train station on ViaMobilidade Line 8 (CPTM), Line 8-Diamond, located in the district of Lapa in São Paulo. There are future plans for it to be connected with a new CPTM line, yet with no color or number defined, which will connect Piqueri (CPTM), Piqueri with Monte Belo station, in Butantã (district of São Paulo), Butantã. History The station was opened in 1920, named Posto Telegráfico Km 9,221. In 1921, it was renamed to Domingos de Moraes as a tribute to the Brazilian politician, who was Vice President (now Vice Governor) of São Paulo in 1902. ViaMobilidade is a company in Brazil belonging to Companhia de Concessões Rodoviárias, being responsible for the operation, maintenance and investments in Line 5–Lilac, Line 8–Diamond and Line 9–Emerald of São Paulo Metropolitan Trains for 20 years, through a public-private concession contract, in partnership with the Government of the State of São Paulo.
