Lake District or Edmonton North is a residential area in the northeast portion of the City of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada. It was established in 1979 through Edmonton City Council's adoption of the Edmonton North Area Structure Plan, which guides the overall development of the area. Geography Located in northeast Edmonton, the Lake District area is bounded by 97 Street (Alberta Highway 28, Highway 28) to the west, 153 Avenue to the south, 66 Street to the east, and Anthony Henday Drive (Highway 216) to the north. The area is bisected by 167 Avenue and 82 Street. The Castle Downs, Edmonton, Castle Downs area lies beyond 97 Street to the west, while the Dickinsfield, Edmonton, Dickinsfield and Londonderry, Edmonton, Londonderry areas are beyond 153 Avenue to the south and the Pilot Sound, Edmonton, Pilot Sound area is beyond 66 Street to the east. Sturgeon County
Sturgeon County is a municipal district the Edmonton Metropolitan Region of Alberta, Canada. It is north of Edmonton and west of the North Saskatchewan River. Sturgeon County is located in Division No. 11 and was named for the Sturgeon River. History In 1876, the Crown gained title to the land that would later become Sturgeon County in Treaty 6 with First Nations. The area was first settled in 1879. The first settlers were several francophone families. Griesbach, Edmonton
Griesbach is a developing community in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This mainly residential neighbourhood was formerly the site of a military base, part of CFB Griesbach. The land was transferred to Canada Lands Company to redevelop it. It remains a project of the Crown corporation. The neighbourhood is bounded on the north by 153 Avenue, on the east by 97 Street, on the south by 137 Avenue, and on the west by Castle Downs Road. Travel north along 97 Street provides access to the current CFB Edmonton. Travel south along 97 Street provides access to the downtown core and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Lago Lindo is a residential neighbourhood located in north Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The name is Spanish for "pretty lake", and contains two lakes named for communities in Spain.
