Laixi–Rongcheng High-speed Railway
The Laixi–Rongcheng high speed railway is a high speed line between Laixi and Rongcheng in China. History The railway was approved on 31 August 2020. Construction on the railway officially began on 31 October. Route The line is long runs from west to east and will take a much more direct route between Laixi and Rongcheng than the existing Qingdao–Rongcheng intercity railway, which goes via Yantai. Weihai
Weihai (), formerly called Weihaiwei (), is a prefecture-level city and major seaport in easternmost Shandong province. It borders Yantai to the west and the Yellow Sea to the east, and is the closest Chinese city to South Korea. Weihai's population was 2,804,771 as of the 2020 Chinese census, of whom 1,164,730 lived in the current built-up (''or metro'') area of (Huancui District) even though Wendeng district to the south with 563,529 inhabitants is soon being conurbated. Laixi Railway Station
Laixi railway station (Chinese: 莱西站) is a railway station in Laixi, Qingdao, Shandong, China. It is situated about south of the centre of Laixi. History The station was opened on 28 December 2014 along with the Qingdao–Rongcheng intercity railway. The station was closed from 10 July 2019 for reconstruction as part of the Weifang–Laixi high-speed railway. In the future, the station will be the start of the Laixi–Rongcheng high-speed railway, which will provide a faster journey to Rongcheng. China Railway High-speed (CRH) is a high-speed rail service operated by China Railway. The introduction of CRH series was a major part of the sixth national railway speedup, implemented on April 18, 2007. Laixi
Laixi () is a county-level city of Qingdao sub-provincial city, Shandong Province, China. Laixi is known as "Qingdao's Back Garden". , its neighbor to the north; however, Laixi is now the northernmost county-level division of Qingdao and Laiyang is the southernmost division of Yantai. In mid-2015, The Qing-Long Highway opened, connecting Qingdao and Longkou. This made travel to Qingdao proper (the beach and business area) a faster and safer journey, as State Route 204 between Laixi and Qingdao (proper) is often crowded with trucks, hampered by numerous traffic lights, and narrow lanes. Rongcheng, Shandong
Rongcheng () is a county-level city of the prefecture-level city of Weihai, at the eastern extremity of Shandong Province, China, looking out to the Yellow Sea in all directions but the west. History According to historical records, the First Emperor of the Qin dynasty had visited Rongcheng twice, building bridges and temples. In 1735, during the Qing dynasty, the Yongzheng Emperor gave Rongcheng its present name. Notable Events In June 2011, a mutiny and mass murder broke out on '' Lurongyu 2682'', a fishing trawler registered in Rongcheng. Qingdao–Rongcheng intercity railway is a high-speed railway located in China's, Shandong Province. It travels along the Shandong Peninsula connecting to Qingdao and Rongcheng.
