Kristian Blystad
Kristian Blystad (born 18 March 1946) is a Norwegian sculptor. Career He was born in Bergen. Among his works is the fountain sculpture ''Kronos'' at Majorstuen, Oslo. A granite sculpture of Wilhelm Frimann Koren Christie was erected in front of the Parliament of Norway in 1989. A statue of Christian Frederik was unveiled in front of the Parliament in May 2014. He also worked on the facade of the new Library of Alexandria. He is represented at the National Gallery of Norway and in other galleries in Oslo and Bergen. His sculpture "26. september - torso" (2008) is located in Oslo at ''Olav Vs gate'' 5. Wilhelm Frimann Koren Christie
Wilhelm Frimann Koren Christie (7 December 1778 – 10 October 1849) was a Norwegian attorney. He was a member of the National Assembly at Eidsvoll in 1814 and served as the Norwegian Constituent Assembly secretary. Background Born in Kristiansund, Møre og Romsdal, Wilhelm F. K. Christie spent several childhood years in Bergen. He was the son of postmaster Johan Koren Christie (1745–1823) and Anne Thue Brodtkorb (1753–1834). His family can be traced back to Andrew Davidson Christie (ca. 1620-1694), born in Montrose, Scotland, who became a citizen of Bergen in 1654. Majorstuen
Majorstuen is a particularly affluent neighbourhood in the Frogner borough in the inner part of Oslo, Norway. Majorstuen is known for its vibrant downtown and especially its shopping area. The area has several elegant townhouses c. 1880–1890. The area is also an important public transport junction in Oslo, where all metro lines, three tram lines and five bus lines operate. It is served by Majorstuen (station), Majorstuen station. The name The neighborhood was named after a well-known public house that was located on the east side of Sørkedalsveien. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (Latin for "Library of Alexandria"; arz, مكتبة الإسكندرية ', ) is a major library and cultural center on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea in Alexandria, Egypt. It is a commemoration of the Library of Alexandria, once one of the largest libraries worldwide, which was lost in antiquity. The idea of reviving the old library dates back to 1974 when a committee set up by Alexandria University selected a plot of land for its new library. Bård Breivik
Bård Breivik (23 November 1948 – 10 January 2016) was a Norwegian sculptor and art instructor. Biography He was born in Bergen, Norway. He was the son of Thomas Breivik and Sissel Søyland. His father Thomas Breivik (1923-1999) was a notable painter, graphics artist and art instructor. Following his parents divorce in 1951, he was raised by his mother in Laksevåg. He was educated at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design (''Bergen Kunsthåndverkskole'' and ''Vestlandets Kunstakademi'') and St. Martin's School of Art in London. Breivik held a professorship at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm from 1982 to 1985 and worked actively as an artist throughout his life.
