Kirchheim (Teck)
Kirchheim unter Teck ( Swabian: ''Kircha'') is a town in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, in the district of Esslingen. It is located on the small river Lauter, a tributary of the Neckar. It is 10 km (6 miles) near the Teck castle, approximately southeast of Stuttgart. It is the fourth city in the Esslingen district, forming a district centre for the surrounding communities. Since 1 April 1956, Kirchheim unter Teck has the status of Große Kreisstadt. The city forms a ''Verwaltungsgemeinschaft'' (administrative community) with the neighbouring municipalities Dettingen and Notzingen. Kirchheim unter Teck was also, for several centuries, seat of the Oberamt (Oa.) Kirchheim. Swabian German
Swabian (german: Schwäbisch ) is one of the dialect groups of Alemannic German that belong to the High German dialect continuum. It is mainly spoken in Swabia, which is located in central and southeastern Baden-Württemberg (including its capital Stuttgart and the Swabian Jura region) and the southwest of Bavaria ( Bavarian Swabia). Furthermore, Swabian German dialects are spoken by Caucasus Germans in Transcaucasia. The dialects of the Danube Swabian population of Hungary, the former Yugoslavia and Romania are only nominally Swabian and can be traced back not only to Swabian but also to Franconian, Bavarian and Hessian dialects, with locally varying degrees of influence of the initial dialects. Clockwise

Town

Lindorf
Lindorf is a formerly independent municipality in Esslingen district in Baden-Württemberg and belongs since 1935 to the town Kirchheim unter Teck. Geography Lindorf is located about two kilometers west of the Kirchheim unter Teck on the opposite side of the Bundesautobahn 8. The area is 275 hectares. History 1090 Lindorf is first mentioned in the Bempflingen contract. A "Wernher von Lindorf" is named in this contract as a witness. In the 12th century the place was owned by the House of Zähringen. About the Counts of Aichelberg and the Duke of Teck the village finally came to Württemberg. On April 1, 1935 the forced incorporation to Kirchheim was carried out, council and mayor were abolished. Only in 1992 was decided by the Kirchheim council to set up again an Ortschaftsrat in Lindorf and to appoint an honorary mayor. Wernau (Neckar)
Wernau is a town in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg southwestern Germany. It is situated on the Neckar river, 25 km southeast of Stuttgart. Geography Location Wernau is located on the southeast bank of the Neckar river, south of Plochingen and about 25 km east of Stuttgart. The Bodenbach river flows through the city. In 1981 the Wernau Baggerseen (quarry ponds) were declared a wildlife preserve. Today it spans across 45 hectares. Another 5.5 hectares of wildlife preserve are located in an area of the city called the Wernau Lehmgrube (clay pits). The small community of "Freitagshof," which lies to the South, also belongs to Wernau. Weilheim An Der Teck
Weilheim an der Teck is a town in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It is situated 7 km southeast of Kirchheim unter Teck, and 13 km southwest of Göppingen. Locals often refer to it as just "Weilheim", although there are in fact several "Weilheims" in Germany including one other in Baden-Württemberg. History Finds from prehistoric and ancient times indicate a very early settlement of Weilheim space. The oldest written mention of the place can be found on 1 October 769 in a deed of Lorsch Abbey.
