Weilheim An Der Teck
Weilheim an der Teck is a town in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It is situated 7 km southeast of Kirchheim unter Teck, and 13 km southwest of Göppingen. Locals often refer to it as just "Weilheim", although there are in fact several "Weilheims" in Germany including one other in Baden-Württemberg. History Finds from prehistoric and ancient times indicate a very early settlement of Weilheim space. The oldest written mention of the place can be found on 1 October 769 in a deed of Lorsch Abbey. In the years 1050 to 1070 founded Berthold II, Duke of Carinthia of the House of Zähringen the Limburg and a provost in Weilheim, which remained during 20 years the headquarter of the House of Zährigen. In 1319 count Ulrich of Aichelberg rose Weilheim to a city, which was fortified and rapidly gained importance because of the market law. 1334 sold Graf Brun of Kirchberg the place for 7,500 guilders to the House of Württemberg. 1432 in t ... Esslingen (district)
Esslingen is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the centre of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) Rems-Murr, Göppingen, Reutlingen, Böblingen and the district-free city Stuttgart. Until 15 October 1964 the district's name was written officially as Landkreis Eßlingen. History The district dates back to the Oberamt Esslingen, which was created when the previously free imperial city of Esslingen am Neckar became part of Württemberg in 1803. It was changed several times in the course of history. Since 1810 it belonged to the ''Landvogtei Rothenberg'' and from 1818 until it was dissolved in 1924 to the ''Neckarkreis''. Bissingen is a municipality in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. Geographical location Bissingen lies at the foot of the Swabian Jura, the district Ochsenwang on the Alb plateau. The municipality covers an altitude of 384 m on the border with Kirchheim unter Teck-Nabern to 830 m in "Brucker Hölzle", which is at the same time the highest point of Stuttgart (region). Jannik Steimle (born 4 April 1996) is a German cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . In August 2019, Steimle joined UCI WorldTeam as a stagiaire for the second half of the season. Richard Döcker
Richard Döcker (13 June 1894, Weilheim an der Teck - 9 November 1968, Stuttgart) was a German architect and professor associated with the functionalist style in architecture. Biography Döcker studied architecture from 1912 to 1918 at the University of Stuttgart, graduating with honors. From 1914 to 1917 he was a volunteer in World War I. In 1921 he passed his Staatsexamen in Stuttgart, and from 1922 to 1924 he was an assistant for Paul Bonatz at the University of Stuttgart, where he received his doctorate, on the architecture of homes. In 1926, he joined ''Der Ring'', an artist's society, and in 1927 was appointed as construction manager of the Weissenhof Estate in Stuttgart, a modern architectural project supervised by Mies van der Rohe. He became a member of the Deutscher Werkbund in 1928, and in that same year collaborated on the Congrès International d'Architecture Moderne. Friedrich Von Gerok
Friedrich von Gerok (19 November 1786, in Weilheim – 2 July 1865, in Stuttgart) was a German theologian. After studying Gerok began his professional career in 1806, and from 1809 to 1811 he was librarian at Tübingen. From 1811 to 1814 he was assistant to the professor of classical literature at the University of Tübingen. Aichelberg
Aichelberg is a municipality in the district of Göppingen in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. Aichelberg is between Stuttgart and Ulm at the ''Albaufstieg'', the slope of the Swabian Jura in 357–615 meters altitude. Characteristic of the location are the Aichelberg (564 m above sea level) and the Turmberg (609 m above sea level). Boßler
Boßler is a mountain in the Swabian Alps, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Tourism Located at an elevation of 785 m is the Boßlerhaus (Bossler House), a working agricultural building run by the local group Friends of Nature Göppingen. It is beside the Gruibinger Wiesle, a popular hiking destination. 500 m west of the house there is a viewpoint on the escarpment at an altitude of 794 m which offers a view far to the west.
