Royal Danish Yacht Club ( da, Kongelig Dansk Yachtklub; shortened KDY) is a Danish yacht club in Copenhagen that was established 1866 under the name ''Dansk Forening for Lystsejlads''. It is the oldest yacht club in Denmark, and has been under royal patronage since Christian IX's approval in 1891. It has about 2,200 members. Hellerup
Hellerup () is a very affluent district of Gentofte Municipality in the suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. The most urban part of the district is centred on Strandvejen and is bordered by Østerbro to the south and the Øresund to the east. It comprises Tuborg Havn, the redeveloped brewery site of Tuborg Breweries, with the Waterfront Shopping Center, a marina and the headquarters of several large companies. Rungsted, also known as ''Rungsted Kyst'' is an affluent suburban neighborhood in Hørsholm Municipality on the Øresund coast north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The center of Hørsholm is located two kilometers west of Rungsted. At the Øresund coast is Rungsted Harbour, a marina. History The name Rungsted is first recorded in 1346 in the form ''Runæstigh''. Skovshoved
Skovshoved is a former fishing village on the Øresund coast north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The area is part of Charlottenlund postal district and Gentofte Municipality. Local landmarks include Skovshoved Church, Sjovshoved Hotel and the listed Arne Jacobsen-designed Skovshoved Petrol Station from 1938. Tuborg is a Danish brewing company founded in 1873 on a harbour in Hellerup, an area North of Copenhagen, Denmark. Since 1970 it has been part of the Carlsberg Group. The brewery's flagship, the Tuborg pilsner, was brewed for the first time in 1880. Christian IX
Christian IX (8 April 181829 January 1906) was King of Denmark from 1863 until his death in 1906. From 1863 to 1864, he was concurrently Duke of Schleswig, Holstein and Lauenburg. A younger son of Frederick William, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, Christian grew up in the Duchy of Schleswig as a prince of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, a junior branch of the House of Oldenburg which had ruled Denmark since 1448. Tuborg Havn
Tuborg Havn or Port of Tuborg is a marina and surrounding mixed-use neighbourhood in the Hellerup district of Copenhagen, Denmark. Located on a peninsula on the north side of Svanemølle Bay, just north of the border to Copenhagen Municipality, it is the result of a redevelopment of the former industrial site of Tuborg Breweries which ceased operations in 1996. The marina is operated by the Royal Danish Yacht Club which also has their club house at the site. The Langelinie Pavilion (Danish language, Danish: Langeliniepavillonen) is a venue located at the Langelinie waterfront in Copenhagen, Denmark. The first Langelinie Pavilion was built in the 1880s but the current building is a Modernist structure from 1958 and was designed by Nils and Eva Koppel. Schalburgtage
Schalburgtage was the popular name for the retaliation which Germans and their Danish collaborators carried out as revenge for resistance activity in the last part of the occupation of Denmark between 1944 and 1945. The word is partially a reference to sabotage and partially to the Schalburg Corps who carried out most of the actions. The occupying power called it counter-sabotage, but the Danes quickly adopted the name schalburgtage. In fact, most of the schalburgtage was carried out by the Peter group, most of whose members were also members of the Schalburg Corps. Schalburgtage was directed against both the Danish resistance movement and Danish society in general.
