Denmark was represented by Gry Johansen, with the song "Kloden drejer", at the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 23 April in Munich. Gry Johansen-Meilstrup (known as Gry) (born 28 August 1964 in Copenhagen) is a Danish singer who represented her country in Eurovision Song Contest 1983 The Eurovision Song Contest 1983 was the 28th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. Billy Cross
Billy Cross was born in Manhattan, New York on July 15, 1946 and is an American guitarist, singer and producer who has lived in Denmark since 1980. He has been part of the Danish bands: Delta Cross Band, Cross-Schack-Ostermann, and Everybody's Talking. Career Billy Cross was graduated from Columbia College-- the undergraduate liberal arts college of Columbia University in 1968. Cross began as a professional musician in the United States in 1960 as a studio musician and assistant producer. He played briefly with the 1950s nostalgia act Sha Na Na and played guitar in the Broadway show of ''Hair''. He became the musical director of the National touring company of ''Hair'' in 1972. Cross also played in Jim Rado's after-''Hair'' show: ''Rainbow'' in NYC. He played guitar on Jobriath's two albums and was a member of his live band. Dansk Melodi Grand Prix (), also known as Melodi Grand Prix or simply DMGP, is an annual music competition organised by the Danish public broadcaster Danmarks Radio (DR) since 1957, which determines the for the Eurovision Song Contest. The festival has produced three Eurovision winners and fourteen top-five placings. History With the introduction of a semi-final at the 2004 contest, and due to Denmark's absence from the 2003 contest, Denmark's 2004 representative, Tomas Thordarson, had to take part in the semi-final. Hot Eyes was the name adopted for international acts by the Danish singing duo known in their home country as Kirsten and Søren. It was formed by Kirsten Siggaard Andersen (born 7 September 1954 in Slagelse) and Søren Bundgaard Nielsen (born 4 March 1956 in Glostrup). Biography Kirsten was brought up in a traditional Christian family who sang in a church choir when she was young and later pursued a career deemed appropriate and desirable, working in a bank, where she met her husband, Jorgen. Søren was a musician, singer and composer, at that time a member of the Danish band Sir Henry. Sir Henry And His Butlers
Sir Henry and his Butlers was a Danish rock- pop group which was formed during the summer of 1964 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The group is mostly known for its two front figures Ole "Sir Henry" Bredahl and especially Tommy Seebach and also the song "Let's Go". Characteristic for the group has been Ole Bredahl as organiser, whereas the rest of the ensemble of Sir Henry and his Butlers have been changed many times since the creation of the group.
