''King'' is the fourth studio album by German rapper Kollegah, released on 9 May 2014 through Selfmade Records. The album produced four singles, including "Alpha", "AKs im Wandschrank", "King" and "Du bist Boss", which all received music videos. ''King'' debuted at number one on the German, Swiss and Austrian album charts. Background Kollegah started working on ''King'' in early 2013, following the release of his second collaborative studio album, '' Jung, brutal, gutaussehend 2'', alongside German rapper Farid Bang in February 2013. The first version of the album was finished in mid-2013, but was tweaked multiple times over the following months. The album's announcement was made on 4 November 2013 through the song "Ruhe vor dem Sturm". The album's release was set to April 2014 but was pushed to early May 2014. It was released on 9 May 2014. Kollegah
Felix Martin Andreas Matthias Blume (born 3 August 1984), known professionally as Kollegah, is a German rapper. He releases his music via his own label, Alpha Music Empire. Born in Friedberg and raised by a single mother in Simmern, he started rapping in the Reimliga Battle Arena in December 2004. Intending to pursue a solo career as a rapper, Kollegah released his first mixtape ''Zuhältertape'' in July 2005 and was signed to ''Selfmade Records'' in December of the same year. He went on to pursue a variety of styles on subsequent albums '' Alphagene'' (2007), ''Kollegah'' (2008) and '' Bossaura'' (2011). His fourth studio album, ''King'', was released in 2014 and became his best-selling album to date. Selfmade Records is a German hip hop music, hip hop label, which was formed 2005 by Elvir Omerbegovic, better known under the pseudonym Slick One, and Philipp Dammann. Farid Hamed El Abdellaoui ( ar, link=no, فريد العبدلاوي, born 4 June 1986), known professionally as Farid Bang, is a German rapper of Moroccan-Spanish descent. Genetikk is a German hip hop group from Saarbrücken. Members Kappa and Sikk formed the group in 2009 and have since released nine studio albums. History Karuzo and Sikk are from Saarbrücken. The duo got to know each other in school and started recording music. In the process, a hip hop group with constantly changing members was formed.
