Kieth Hymmen
Kieth Reinhardt Hymmen (June 13, 1913 – January 16, 1978) was a Canadian politician. A member of the Liberal Party, he represented the Waterloo North electoral district from 1965 to 1968, and Kitchener electoral district from 1968 to 1974, in the House of Commons. The son of Horace Hymmen and Clara Dunke, he was educated in Kitchener and at the University of Toronto The University of Toronto (UToronto or U of T) is a public university, public research university in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, located on the grounds that surround Queen's Park (Toronto), Queen's Park. It was founded by royal charter in 1827 .... Hymmen became a chemical engineer in Kitchener. In 1940, he married Ruth Amelia Iredale. He served on Kitchener city council and was mayor of Kitchener for six months in 1958 and again from 1963 to 1965. He died in 1978 and was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Kitchener. The House of Commons of Canada (french: Chambre des communes du Canada) is the lower house of the Parliament of Canada. Together with the Crown and the Senate of Canada, they comprise the bicameral legislature of Canada. The House of Commons is a democratically elected body whose members are known as members of Parliament (MPs). There have been 338 MPs since the most recent electoral district redistribution for the 2015 federal election, which saw the addition of 30 seats. Members are elected by simple plurality ("first-past-the-post" system) in each of the country's electoral districts, which are colloquially known as ''ridings''.
