KFUM Jämtland Basket is a basketball club founded in based in Östersund, Sweden. Founded in 1956, the team plays in the Swedish Basketball League (SBL), the Swedish top basketball league. Home games are played in the Östersunds Sporthall, which has a capacity for 1,700 people. The club also has a women's team playing at the highest national level. History The team was previously named the Jämtland Ambassadors before the organisation went bankrupt in 1998. The team was re-founded under its current name Jämtland Basket. They played a couple of seasons in the second-tier Basketettan before promoting back in 2000. In the 2021–22 season, Jämtland had its best performance in club history as they reached the finals of the Swedish Basketball League for the first time after beating Köping Basket in the quarter-finals and Södertälje BBK in the semi-finals. Swedish Basketball League
Svenska Basketligan, or the Swedish Basketball League (SBL), is the premier league for professional basketball in Sweden. The league was originally established in 1992 as Basketligan and was known as that prior to the season of 2006–07, but when the Swedish company Obol Investment signed an agreement with the Swedish Basketball Federation in early October 2006, the league was renamed Obol Basketball League (OBL). In January 2007 the name was changed to Ligan, meaning simply the League. History On October 6, 2006, the Swedish Basketball Federation signed a 15-year agreement with Swiss company Obol Investment. Part of the deal was that ''Basketligan'' would be renamed ''Obol Basketball League''. Other parts of the deal include that the winning team would receive prize money if the team were to play in the EuroLeague during the following season. Nikolas Tomsick
Nicholas Tomsick (born 26 February 1991) is an American-Croatian professional basketball player who plays for Donar Groningen in the BNXT League. In 2019, he led the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild karla in assists while playing for Þór Þorlákshöfn. He became well known for his clutch performances in close games in the Úrvalsdeild, hitting several game winning shots at the buzzer for both Þór and Stjarnan. College career Tomsick played two seasons at North Platte Community College from 2010 to 2012. Jaan Puidet (born 4 January 1992) is an Estonian professional basketball player for Real Valladolid of the Spanish LEB Oro. He is a tall shooting guard. Marshall Lance Nelson (born 31 January 1994) is an Australian-Belgian professional basketball player for the Rockingham Flames of the NBL1 West. Liberty played college basketball for the University of Illinois. The FIBA Europe Cup (FEC) is an annual professional club basketball competition organised by FIBA for eligible European clubs. It is FIBA's European-wide second level.
