Westchester Knicks
The Westchester Knicks are an American professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in White Plains, New York, and are affiliated with the New York Knicks. The Knicks typically play their home games at Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York. Due to the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, while the Westchester County Center served as vaccination site, the Westchester Knicks had announced on October 9, 2021 that they would play their 2021–22 NBA G League season, 2021–22 season home games at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Bridgeport, Connecticut. On June 21, 2022 the Westchester Knicks announced that their home games would continue at the Total Mortgage Arena for the 2022–23 NBA G League season, 2022–23 season. NBA G League
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. The league started with eight teams until NBA commissioner David Stern announced a plan to expand the NBA D-League to 15 teams and develop it into a true minor league farm team, farm system, with each NBA D-League team affiliated with one or more NBA teams in March 2005. At the conclusion of the 2013–14 NBA season, 33% of NBA players had spent time in the NBA D-League, up from 23% in 2011. Chasson Randle
Chasson Randle (born February 5, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for the Grand Rapids Gold of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Stanford Cardinal. As a senior in 2014–15, he was considered one of the top point guards in the country. Born in Rock Island, Illinois, Randle played basketball for Rock Island High School. High school career Randle was a highly recruited player out of Rock Island High School. James Taft "Jimmer" Fredette (born February 25, 1989) is an American former professional basketball player. He last played for the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association. Fredette was the 2011 National Player of the Year in college basketball after ranking as the leading scorer in all of NCAA Division I during his senior season for the BYU Cougars. Derrick Samuel Alston Sr. (born August 20, 1972) is an American former basketball player who is the head coach for the Westchester Knicks of the NBA G League. Coby Joseph Karl (born June 8, 1983) is an American former professional basketball player who is the head coach of the Delaware Blue Coats of the NBA G League.
