João LuÃs Pinto
João LuÃs Pinto is a Portuguese rugby union coach. He was the head coach of Portugal, since 25 July 2014 to 2016. He has been a coach for the Portuguese Rugby Federation since January 2008. He was the head coach for the U-19 and the U-18 National Teams. Pinto best result was the title of European Champions of the U-19 category in 2012, which granted Portugal qualification for the 2013 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy, in Chile. Portugal reached the 6th place in the tournament. Portugal National Rugby Union Team
The Portugal national rugby union team (Portuguese: Seleção Portuguesa de Rugby), nicknamed Os Lobos (''The Wolves''), represents Portugal in men's international rugby union competitions. The team as well as all rugby union in Portugal is administered by the Federação Portuguesa de Rugby. Portugal qualified for their first Rugby World Cup in 2007 where they were grouped in Pool C along with New Zealand, Italy, Romania and Scotland. They are nicknamed Os Lobos. Portugal have experienced modest success in the last two decades. They qualified for the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France and though they lost all their matches, they managed to score one try in each game and led against Romania until the late minutes. 2013 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy
The 2013 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy was the sixth annual international rugby union competition for under-20 national teams, second-tier world championship. The event was held in Temuco, Chile and was organized by rugby's governing body, the International Rugby Board. The tournament was originally to be held in Antofagasta, but that city pulled out of hosting only a few months before the tournament. Frederico Abreu Sousa (born Lisbon, 18 August 1978) is a former Portuguese rugby union player and a current coach. He played as a centre. His team was Direito. He was one of the most experienced players for the Portuguese squad, and was a member of his country squad that entered the 2007 Rugby World Cup finals. He played three matches, with Scotland, Italy and Romania. He had 47 caps for his national team, from 2000 to 2007, with 4 tries scored, 20 points in aggregate. He was the head coach of the Portugal national rugby team from 2013 to 2014, but failed to qualify his country to the 2015 Rugby World Cup. He was replaced by João LuÃs Pinto in July 2014.
