Jovan Kavarić
Jovan Kavarić (Montenegrin Cyrillic: Јован Каварић; born 1934 in Ponari, Zeta Banovina, Kingdom of Yugoslavia) is a Montenegrins (ethnic group), Montenegrin clinical chemistry, clinical biochemist and politician. Kavarić attended the University of Sarajevo, University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Science in Sarajevo, and later finished the third degree of medical school at the University of Zagreb, University of Zagreb - School of Medicine in Zagreb. Kavarić later received his doctorate from the University of Zagreb, University of Zagreb - Faculty of Science. Kavarić served as Mayor of Podgorica, mayor of Podgorica, Titograd from 1989 to 1990. Kavarić is currently a professor of biochemistry and clinical biochemistry at the University of Montenegro's Faculty of Science and Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica. Montenegrin Cyrillic
The Montenegrin alphabet is the collective name given to "" ( Montenegrin Latin alphabet; in Cyrillic) and "" ( Montenegrin Cyrillic alphabet; in Latin), the writing systems used to write the Montenegrin language. It was adopted on 9 June 2009 by the Montenegrin Minister of Education, Sreten Škuletić and replaced the Serbian Cyrillic and Gaj's Latin alphabets in use at the time. Although the Latin and Cyrillic alphabets enjoy equal status under the Constitution of Montenegro, the government and proponents of the Montenegrin language prefer to use the Latin script exclusively; it is also much more widely used in all aspects of the day-to-day written communication in the country, in education, advertising and media. Montenegrins (, or ) are a South Slavic ethnic group that share a common ancestry, culture, history, and language, identified with the country of Montenegro. Montenegrins are mostly Orthodox Christians; however, the population also includes Catholics, Muslims and irreligious people. The Montenegrin language is the official language of Montenegro. Historically, the Montenegrin nation comprised many tribes. Most tribes formed in the 15th and 16th centuries, about the time when the Ottoman Empire established its control of the medieval state of Zeta. Today, the tribes are mainly studied within the frameworks of social anthropology and family history, as they have not been used in official structures since the time (1852-1910) of the Principality of Montenegro; however, some tribal regions overlap with contemporary municipal areas. Podgorica ( cnr-Cyrl, Подгорица; ) is the Capital city, capital and List of cities and towns in Montenegro, largest city of Montenegro. The city is just north of Lake Skadar and close to coastal destinations on the Adriatic Sea.
