Jinsha Township (Kinsha) () is an urban township in the north-eastern corner of Greater Kinmen Island (Quemoy), Kinmen County, Fujian Province, Republic of China (Taiwan). It is in the Taiwan Strait, on the coast of mainland China. Geography Jinsha has a population of 19,465 and an area of . The township is the second largest by area of the six townships of Kinmen County. The township includes Cao Islet (Ts'ao Hsü; ), Hou Islet (), and other small islets. At low tide, the coast near Mashan () in northern Jinsha is from Jiaoyu (Chiao I., Reef I.; /), an island originally part of Kinmen County in Dadeng Subdistrict, Xiang'an District, Xiamen, Fujian, People's Republic of China. Rock-filled waters make passage between the two areas difficult. Townships are the third-level administrative subdivisions of counties of the Republic of China (Taiwan), along with county-administered cities. After World War II, the townships were established from the following conversions on the Japanese administrative divisions: Although local laws do not enforce strict standards for classifying them, generally urban townships have a larger population and more business and industry than rural townships, but not to the extent of county-administered cities. Under townships, there is still the village as the fourth or basic level of administration. Wang Chin-cheng's Western House
The Beishan Old Western-style House () is a historical house in Jinsha Township, Kinmen County, Taiwan. History Construction of the house began around 1918 or 1919 for the Wang family and was completed in 1932. The house was seized by the Imperial Japanese Army in 1937 and returned to the family in 1946. In 1954, the house was taken by the Republic of China Army. From 1956 to 1965, it was used as a storage depot for engineering materials. In 2015, the house was declared a historical building. On 29 September 2021, restoration work on the house began in a ceremony attended by Magistrate Yang Cheng-wu and descendants of the original owners. The restoration work was expected to cost around NT$40 million. Architecture The house was constructed with Western and Hokkien architectural elements. Kinmen Folk Culture Village
The Kinmen Folk Culture Village () is a cultural center in Jinsha Township, Kinmen County, Taiwan. History The culture village was designed by an architect from Jiangxi and built by Wang Kuo-chen, a successful businessman who created his wealth while he was in Japan. The construction started in 1876 and it took 25 years to complete all buildings in this area in the year 1900. During the martial law period, the village was renovated to become a folk culture village and later in 1995 was included into the Kinmen National Park. It was the first village in Kinmen which was turned into a tourist destination. Longfeng Temple
Guan'ao Longfeng Temple ( zh, t=官澳龍鳳宮, s=官澳龙凤宫, first=t, p=Guān'ào Lóngfèng Gōng) is a temple located in Jinsha Township, Kinmen County, Fujian. The temple's main deity is the sea goddess Mazu. History The temple was founded in 1611, making it one of the oldest Mazu temples in Kinmen; at the time, it only housed one Mazu and was known as Tianfei Temple (天妃廟). A nearby temple named Fengshan Temple (鳯山寺), which was dedicated to , was initially located on a beach but collapsed from damage by the ocean. After being moved inland, Fengshan Temple was taken by ROC forces during the Retreat of the Republic of China to Taiwan. Therefore, the statue was moved into Tianfei Temple in 1949, and the temple was renamed to Longfeng Temple. Jindong Movie Theater
The Jindong Movie Theater () is a movie theater in Jinsha Township, Kinmen County, Fuchien, Republic of China. History The theater was built in 1950 by donation from Chang Hsiang-chuan to award the officers and soldiers in the county.
