Jinnah Sports Stadium
Jinnah Sports Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Islamabad, Pakistan. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 48,000 people and is the largest stadium in Pakistan. Stadium This stadium was built in the 1970s. The stadium was renovated and used for the SAF Games in 2004. Islamabad (; ur, , ) is the capital city of Pakistan. SAFF Women's Championship
The SAFF Women's Championship, also called the ''South Asian Football Federation Women's Cup'', is the main association football competition of the women's national football teams, governed by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). All seven members are eligible to participate in this tournament. History The current SAFF members are Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Formerly, eight members used to compete, prior to the departure of Afghanistan from SAFF. It is held every two years. India won first 5 edition so far, beating Nepal four times and Bangladesh once in the final. Bangladesh is the current champion having defeated Nepal by 3–1 goals on 19 September 2022 in the final. 2009 National Women Football Championship
The 2009 National Women's Football Championship was the 5th season of the National Women Football Championship, the top-tier of women's football in Pakistan. The event took place from 29 July to 11 August 2009 in Jinnah Sports Stadium in Islamabad. Thirteen teams competed in the tournament, with one of them, Malavan Bandar Anzali Football Club, Malavan Bandar Anzali, being a guest team from Iran. Malavan BA won the title after beating Sports Science Department (of University of the Punjab) 11–0 in the final. Defending champions Young Rising Stars F.F.C., Young Rising Stars came third. The National Women Football Championship is the top cup competition for women's football clubs in Pakistan – designed as an equivalent to the National Challenge Cup for men. It was started in 2005 by the Pakistan Football Federation.
