Jimmy Enabu
Jimmy Abraham Enabu (born 17 April 1988) is a Ugandan professional basketball player. He currently plays for the City Oilers club of the NBL. He started his career with the Knight Riders basketball team from Entebbe in 2007. Enabu moved to City Oilers in 2013, and helped the team win a record nine NBL championships. He represented Uganda's national basketball team at the 2017 AfroBasket in Tunisia and Senegal, where he was Uganda’s best passer as he recorded most assists for his team. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. 2023 BAL Season
The 2023 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 3, is the third season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season began on 11 March 2023 and will end on 27 May 2023, with the playoffs and finals being played in the BK Arena in Kigali, which hosts the finals for a third season in a row. The regular season is played in Dakar, Senegal (Sahara Conference) and Cairo, Egypt (Nile Conference) for a second year in a row. The qualification games for the season, the Road to BAL, began on 11 October 2022. The winners of the 2023 BAL season will automatically qualify for the 2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup Singapore. FIBA AfroBasket 2017 was the 29th edition of the AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. The tournament was jointly hosted by Tunisia and Senegal. Angola was proposed by FIBA Africa to host the tournament, an offer declined as the country is holding general elections in the same period. The National Basketball League is a semi-professional basketball league in Uganda that is the highest division of men's basketball in the country. The league currently consists of 13 teams. Established in 1995, media often highlights the league's physicality. The City Oilers dominated during the 2010s, winning seven straight NBL titles. The Oilers are the league's most decorated team with 8 won championships. History Basketball was introduced in Uganda in 1962, by the American Peace Corps and East African teachers. During the 1970s and 80s, economic hardship in the country meant a decline of the sport in the country as many schools abandoned the game.
