Jesuit Conference Of Canada And The United States
Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States is the collaborating body of the five provincial superiors of the Society of Jesus in Canada, the United States, Belize, and Haiti. The conference includes the Canada Province (which includes Haiti) and the four provinces of the United States: USA East, USA Central and Southern (which includes Belize), USA Midwest, and USA West. The conference is led by a president, who also serves as chair of the Conference board. The administrative offices are in Washington, D.C., with eight on the full-time staff. The conference hosts the provincial websites. History From 2014 to 2017, the Jesuit provinces in the United States were consolidated. Jesuit Schools Network
The Jesuit Schools Network (JSN) is the umbrella association for secondary schools run by the Society of Jesus in North America. It is affiliated with the Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States. Based in Washington, D.C., the network serves 55,000 students in 88 Jesuit schools throughout Canada and the United States, and in Belize and the Federated States of Micronesia. Ignatian Solidarity Network (ISN) organizes Jesuit schools and universities in the United States, together with their alumni and all interested parties, in training and advocacy for social justice leadership. The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organisation with a mission to accompany, serve, and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons, that they may heal, learn, and determine their own future. Founded in November 1980 as a work of the Society of Jesus, JRS was officially registered on 19 March 2000 in Vatican City as a foundation. The impetus to found JRS came from the then superior general of the Jesuits, Pedro Arrupe, who was inspired to action by the plight of Vietnamese boat people. JRS has programmes in over 50 countries.
