Jerold Promes
Jerold Promes (born 9 March 1984) is a Dutch footballer who plays as a centre back. Club career Born in Amsterdam, Promes came through the youth ranks of Ajax but did not make the grade at his hometown club and joined RKC Waalwijk in 2004. After a long injury lay-off he was signed by AZ to play in their youth team and then Danny Blind lined him up at Sparta Rotterdam in summer 2007. He left the club in 2009, joining SC Telstar in the Dutch second division, where he became team captain. After playing four seasons for Telstar, he left the club as a free agent. In July 2013, Promes signed a three-year contract with VVV-Venlo. A shoulder injury would, however, keep him sidelined for large parts of his first season in Venlo. The injury initially occurred in a KNVB Cup match against SC Heerenveen, where his shoulder was dislocated, and the same thing happened two months later in an away match against Helmond Sport. Helmond Sport
Helmond Sport is a professional association football club based in the city of Helmond, North Brabant, Netherlands, that competes in the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of the Dutch football league system. The club was founded on 27 June 1967, as a breakaway from the local professional club Helmondia '55, which had gone bankrupt. History The club was founded in 1967, after the professional license was taken over from RKSV Helmondia '55 in order to keep professional football in Helmond. Helmond Sport started in the Tweede Divisie. After only a year, the club was promoted to the First Division after winning the promotion matches against Fortuna Vlaardingen and SC Veendam. The 2013–14 Eerste Divisie, known as Jupiler League for sponsorship reasons, was the fifty-eight season of Eerste Divisie since its establishment in 1955. It began on 2 August 2013 with the first matches of the season and ended on 26 May 2014 with the return of the finals of the promotion/relegation play-offs, also involving the 16th- and 17th-placed teams from the 2013–14 Eredivisie. The 2011–12 Eerste Divisie, known as Jupiler League for sponsorship reasons, was the fifty-sixth season of Eerste Divisie since its establishment in 1955. It began in August 2011 with the first matches of the season and ended in June 2012 with the ''nacompetitie'', a promotion-and-relegation tournament also involving the 16th- and 17th-placed teams from the 2011–12 Eredivisie. The competition was won by FC Zwolle on 13 April 2012, after drawing FC Eindhoven 0–0 at home in their 32nd match of the season. 2010–11 Eerste Divisie
The Eerste Divisie 2010–11 was the 55th season of the Eerste Divisie since its establishment in 1956. The previous year's winners were De Graafschap, who were replaced by last-placed 2009–10 Eredivisie club RKC Waalwijk. The league featured 18 teams, two fewer than its previous season, following the exclusion of HFC Haarlem from professional football and the relegation of FC Oss to the 2010–11 Topklasse. On May 12, 2010 BV Veendam was declared bankrupt due to financial troubles, with FC Oss consequently expected to be readmitted into Eerste Divisie to replace it; however, the verdict was overturned later in June, and the club was thus allowed to play in the season with a reduced budget. From this season on, the last-placed team would be relegated to the Topklasse, and replaced by the winner of the newly established third tier. 2009–10 Eerste Divisie
The Eerste Divisie 2009–10 was the 54th season of the Eerste Divisie since its establishment in 1956. The previous year's winners were VVV-Venlo; they, with runner-up RKC Waalwijk, after a promotion/relegation playoff win over De Graafschap, were promoted to the Eredivisie. Twenty teams took part: eighteen from the 2008-2009 season and relegated teams FC Volendam and De Graafschap. The season's champion was promoted to the Eredivisie, while eight other teams, the second- through fifth-place finishers and period winners, faced the Eredivisie's sixteenth- and seventeenth-place finishers in promotion/relegation playoffs.
